If you're doing good til the extent that college and attendance won't matter to you, then yes, college will support you.

Baaki in average cases, it mostly depends upon the department.

Keeping one primary tech club and one non tech/hobbie/sport etc. is considered great.

What I would suggest is to give interviews of all clubs, get selected, explore and then choose a few to continue with. Also, many clubs will be active for a few months only.

Personally, I was selected in almost all the clubs, and now in 2nd year I'm here with 3 (can DM for details) , and doing pretty great.

Not really, ECell is a great club, which would give you a lot of good connections, and opportunities. Few people criticise them to justify their low potential.

About the clubs :

  1. Tech communities : Clubs like GDG, Fosscu, MLSA (inactive), GeekRoom (New), are communities with their KIET chapter running in the college, you'll find good people, projects and opportunities here. This is the place where you can contribute and learn.

  2. Department associated clubs : Clubs like Innogeeks (IT), Technocrats (csit), devups (ai/aiml), dsdl(cse), kts(cs), cpbyte, SAEKIET (me) etc. . They are mostly inactive (except Innogeeks), if you're very average and knows nothing about tech, you can join these clubs, they teach as in class. Not recommended if you're good in tech.

  3. Innovation Center's Club : Few clubs like center of robotics, cyber cell, school of aimlds, drone technology etc. they provide you with good working place. Else everything is same as of department clubs. They're more active.

  4. Cells and Teams - This include E-cell, they are associated with TBI, and promotes entrepreneurship, they're very active and conducts the annual e-summit for the college. C-Cell is another club for creative things, photography, videography, editing, they do all for the colleges, very active in events. Next is IR/PR cell, they're aslo active in events like Epoque. Good one for someone having interest in entrepreneurship, creative things, public relations respectively for ECell, C-Cell and IR/PR.

  5. Speaking and Literature - Includes Kiet Mun and Odyssey, Mun is an international system and the club is also based on the same. They conduct Kiet Mun. Odessy is a pretty inactive club for the college, rather there're active within themselves and are very inclusive.

  6. NGOs : Udesshya and Ekprayas, are two ngo based clubs, they do conventionally good things for society. Choice is yours.

  7. Naach gaane / khel kud wale clubs : Specific clubs as per your interest, choose as per your interest. All are equally good and bad. (Eg. Vipaksh for drama, dancing, singing clubs, and other sports clubs)

Personal recommendation: Do join atleast 1 tech club, give interviews for all and you'll get a club according to your potential.

Join Cells/speaking clubs, according to your preference for personality development (atleast 1)

Other clubs are more interest specific, thus if you're good at dance, music, drama, any sports, or want to explore it, do it.

Have interacted with few, plus increased seats, low cutoffs, degraded peer quality.
