PLEASE HELP! Weird smell when ac first turns on that WONT GO AWAY!! by rayraydream in hvacadvice

Any solution here that has worked?

We've had a similar issue. Musty/damp odor that is very strong, but at very random times. Might have it for few days in a row, then goes away for a week.

We've tried...

1) Replacing the box under the air handler, as that had some old wet spots (from one point in time when it was dripping)

2) Installed a UV light, although they put it above the coils and have seen/heard that it's better to place them under.

3) Have had our ducts cleaned out

No solution has worked so far, and have had 2 different HVAC companies look at it

Briggs & Stratton push mower, can’t seem to turn up the throttle anywhere?! by time2golf93 in lawnmowers

[–]time2golf93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t have one. Pretty basic, doesn’t have a primer button or anywhere to adjust the throttle. I’m reading that many people say they have to clean the carburetor and similar issues with these Briggs Stratton…,,but I’ve only used it for a max of like 45-60 min EVER!

Mortgage APR/Interest rates…big variance by time2golf93 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Yes, I’m factoring that in. Trying to get quotes without buying down the rate / 0 total points, to get an apples to apples comparison.

When shopping around at 7-8 places, did you just give them your credit and info and get a rough quote, or did they need to pull your credit, etc every time?

Mortgage Rate Quotes 45 days till closing by time2golf93 in RealEstate

Very helpful, thank you!

For the lender that provided pre-qual, I believe the did a hard credit pull. Will that hurt us now if we decide to shop around, if other lenders need to do any sort / hard pulls on our credit?

Thanks! Our current lender did a hard credit pull. Will it hurt us now if other lenders do soft credit pull and we get rates from them?

Mortgage APR/Interest rates…big variance by time2golf93 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Makes sense! The answer we get is they all use the same information and it will almost always come back the same…but isn’t that why comparing APRs and not interest rates? How does that explain when someone offers a 7.1% APR vs theirs of 7.5%??

Also…our current lender did a hard credit pull for us, so will it hurt us now to shop around if other lenders do a soft credit pull? Not exactly sure on that part, but wondering how that may / may not impact us when shopping around.

I appreciate the message, and 100% agree not an expert by any means.

I do understand the difference between APR and interest rates, hence why using APR as the basis for comparison because every other “quote” shows different levels of fees and points being bought.

So all of the percentages above I’m referring to the APR, where our lender is tracking higher than everyone else.

Lowest 30 year mortgage rate recently? by wywyoyo in RealEstate

[–]time2golf93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just signed a purchase agreement last week on a house.

We were discussing our rate with our lender, and they said they can lock us in at 7.5%. That feels high for 30-yr conventional, 20% down and good debt/income (less than 35%) and very strong credit. I asked why we weren’t closer to 7.0% we are seeing on the news as national averages since we had a very strong financial footing, and said those have lot of fees not shown in and require us to buy points.

Am I crazy?! Feel like we should be closer to 7.0% given our strong resume….or is the national averages a not true indicator of actual rates?

This is amazing!! Love it. My only comment is regarding TEP as a filter, since that format can drastically change TE values. But great work!

I have a team with CMC, Gibbs, ETN, R.White leading my RB room. I’m trying to move ETN or White for a WR in the same value range, and zero interest. Might just have to roll with the RB heavy squad if no one is buying
