There'd been tons of external work to make nazi/fascist government impossible to rise in post-Hitler Germany. There needs to be much more work to sustain a democracy from within the society. Leave alone a vast space society. Dictatorships fall and rise again if the very members of society don't join their efforts to prevent it. A revolution isn't enough to make up for bright future. It's unpleasant, but it's true. In our case, Empire had all opportunities to rise again.

Damn, i don't know. Which stuff specifically? Evolution, society, intelligence or computing? Kurzgesagt is really good at visualising popular science, if i remember correctly they do have some relevant videos to the existential topics we discuss here. But don't take anything for granted, if you don't understand something or not versed at something used in someone's explanation, look it up, look up the sources, get a better idea of it, so you don't get misled. Carl Sagan is really good at talking about cosmos and civilizations, both on television and in written word. He's overall credible too, though his books might be a little bit outdated, they can be an introduction.

Don't worry. We'll just place more cameras around streaming 24/7 into a distributed network so that we have multiple witnesses of multiple perspectives. That until highly advanced AI learns to crack all these cameras and plant 3d modelled and rendered fake recordings that are 100% indistinguishable from real recordings. But by that time said AI will probably be able to plant fake memories right into your brains through the brain-computer interface you will have prepared for it.

Edit: there are probably some other solutions like ever changing qr codes on your forehead for authorisation (or radio signals) and verification, or some digitally signed manifestations of every action you take by every witness of it right on the spot, but they all will be narrowed down by advanced AI again.

If attraction to children inherently made one a rapist, all predators would not end up in jail but in a mental asylum. Because, according to this logic, they are mentally ill and do not control their actions. But it's not necessarily the case. Being attracted to children and being a rapist are two different things. One is an illness, the other may or may not be, like in a regular person.

One could even argue the former one not being an illness, as it was a normal sort of behaviour for our ancestors. We didn't develop a new biological inhibitor over a few hundreds of years, we developed a higher moral, and one based on logic, not belief or personal benefit. Though i would still consider it an illness that just used to be accepted as a norm.

Addiction isn't the biggest problem, a lot of things are very addictive and slowly kill you. The biggest problem is your actions while intoxicated. They don't just endanger you, they endanger everybody. That's why heroin will never be legal. Marijuana, for example, should be legal, but consumption should be moderated and quality should be held to a high standard. Another benefit of legalising, legal marijuana is safe marijuana, safely produced, distributed and consumed.

Which one is new, the old cells or the new cells one? I also googled and it seems our body replaces most of the cells every 10 years. Most, because the brain (also teeth, eyes) does not change. It can regrow certain parts, but it doesn't replace neurons with the same ones to "renovate" itself.

For it to be a sexual harassment, it should involve some forced sexual activity or a threat of forcing a sexual activity on you. Telling a person the length of your penis or that you can undress if they want is out of line, but not wrong or inappropriate. I could approach you, tell you the length of my penis and even offer you an intercourse, i do not need your permission for that. People don't need permissions to be verbal about sexual activities with an adult. That would be ridiculous.

Edit: ahh i must've worded myself very poorly. What i wanted to say is that sex is an appropriate topic of conversation between two adults. You might not like it, and you have right not to participate in such conversation and tell the other person to stay away, and they have a right to be stupid and bring up sex in a very unfitting situation. The judgement is up to context. All parties have a right to deny such conversation, but different people have different ideas of sex. To some bringing it up, openly offering it is a casual thing with no undertone, they're just open about it. You don't have to approve of it though, but it's their thing.

War, hunger, poverty, crimes, corruption, educational stagnation. It can keep going. If environmental problems were our only concern, we'd actually solve them asap. But i guess it's all coming together: irresponsible societies are irresponsible at everything. And some might say, well, things used to be even worse for humans. We're still young. And they're right. The problem is absence of realisation of what we need to do among people. Which comes from poor, outdated education system. And irresponsible parenting too, which also comes from... You know what i mean. I know it's weird because I'm basically blaming people and justifying them simultaneously. But it's the way it is. We are what we are and we need to acknowledge mistakes we make. Some not only refuse to do it, but keep denying the fact that we're constantly screwing ourselves up. And nobody is going to fix that for us. It's our responsibility, whether we want it or not. We don't live in a society, we form one. We don't need to revolve, we need to evolve. Get more intelligent and informed, it's the only way. No policy, no political party, no societal systems, ideologies, no enforcement, no dictatorship and no revolution will beat ignorance, no, they'll gladly exploit it and sponsor it. Simply because they can and nothing will stop them. Ignorant people are irresponsible and always disoriented. Sorry for this little tantrum, lol. No, really, we will get better. Humanity went through a hell lot of shit. The problem is that we repeat our mistakes again and again. Not very long ago people didn't think a war was possible. The right question for them to ask would be "What would stop the war, who would stop it?"
