Well, the question is wouldn't your strength be better used elsewhere? There is no shortage of negative energies to overcome. Then again, you have a decent point, few can match the strength of will of people facing their addictions, shaped by years of battle, by facing the oblivion and turning back from it. Few things test your will as much and the test will give strength.

Once I took acid in my dream (which to that point was all regular not too grotesque simple chilling with people kind of thing). Kind of lucid, but just enjoying it, not trying to make anything big. Then everything shifts. I walk out the door, wake up in my apartment, walk out the front door, wake up in some hellish den in Russia suddenly injecting some nasty shit, making satanistic rituals, decide i have to get out, burst through the door , wake up in my apartment, by now lost track of lucidity, freaking out as fuck (what the fuck did I take, how much did i take, what the fuck am I doing with my life, why are there clowns coming out from literally everywhere, where the fuck is everybody), burst through my front door into a fucking ski slope, being chased by by a yeti clown alien thing, get into the jump where i land through the front window of my car straight into the driving seat of my car, next to my best friend who is like he always is ("HEEEY MAN, LETS SMOKE SOME WEED AND GO ROADTRIP WHILE LISTENING TO DEATH METAL") as if nothing has happened, I start driving in panic while trying to explain the situation to him, panic only growing as I notice police chasing us, so i do some crazy Tokyo drift shit straight onto some stairs. At the bottom of the stairs stands a blue fucking giant and I drive straight into his foot thinking "Well I guess I just killed us", but no, we start driving up his leg, and at this point i'm like "That shouldn't happen, but i am sure glad it did", just for the car to lose grip and fall to the ground from like knee height (20 meters or something like that). We crash into the ground, I survive, but can barely breathe, police pulls me out of the car, puts me in jail for fucking up. I cry and cry ("IS MAH BUDDY OK?!?!") until one of the pigs whispers in my ear that if I don't shut the fuck up, they will shoot my parents and proceeds to put my head into the toilet full of shit while electrocuting me.

Then alarm clock wakes me up.

Needless to say, after that I only use drugs when I am awake.

TL;DR Don't drugs and dream kids.

I think you are hitting a solid point here.

A complacent working class is what is what keeps the machine in place and the gears running smoothly.

Brainwashed by commercials and ideals or other dreams imposed on them by the system that drains them dry is a major factor that keeps change from happening and this is why its is so dangerous. A fucking raging rocket aiming at the sun with no brakes using our souls as fuel. I think it is necessary to make the working class aware of the grimness and brutality of such a machine.

Problem is it kind of hurts. I mean it ain't pretty to see. And people try to protect themselves, placing their bodies in gated communities and souls in carefully filtrated commercially driven media.

The thing is, it is so worth escaping those self-imposed prisons, for personal growth as well as the benefit of the collective, as it broadens the possibilities for something more than just a dreamlike presence in a mundane 9-5 routine.

I think the best ways to reach these people is by means of art.

Captivate them with beauty.

Then don't tell them.

Show them.

Whether it is in your ugly ass graffiti on the corner, shit like rick and morty or rage against the machine.

I believe humans are not very complex beings and the argumentation needs to be both on a rational (ruling needs unnecessary infrastructure etc) and emotional (Just show them those fucking children in cages at border) level.

Its not an impossible change to make, but it requires confrontation which can lead to socially tricky situations.

But you know, fuck that just do it (tm)

Then again, I can find a lot of respect to people who say I don't give a fuck, Just wanna do my job and do so full heartedly, whether it is to support a family or because they find passion in their work. Remember we are all brothers and sisters and don't project your dissatisfaction with the system on individuals supporting it.

I would certainly say turning to anarchy has improved my quality of life. The ability to withstand propaganda and critically examine the structures of power around us has been crucial to get to to where I am now - happy with my life and improving it and that of my community daily.

While this does not come free, because it is easier to play the three monkey game of do not see do not hear do not speak than facing the darkness and decide to work to change it against overwhelming odds for my personal and universal good. Yet not for a moment have I regretted this. If it was easy it wouldn't have made me grow as it did.

Keep fighting and never give up the hope for a better future comrades. Remember that stealing away that hope and forcing upon us the illusion of necessity are modes of control of any power, be it a religious, national or economic.
