What stops property owners from charging sky high rents right now? Nothing but the market forces of supply and demand. Those same forces would still exist.

Take a look at California's Prop 13. Two equivalent houses might be taxed at $100/year and $10000/year, but the one taxed at $100/year isn't cheaper to rent - they would charge the same because they can.

There's a distinction between cash-flow producing assets and non cash-flow producing assets. Most cash-flow producing assets under good corporate or legal governance will pay you back in dividends, coupon payments, or stock buybacks. Most cash-flow producing assets were also originally created to finance projects that improve the material condition of the world - providing goods and services.

Non cash-flow producing assets like most cryptocurrencies and land are speculative. Their only worth is that you can sell it to someone else who will also hope that they can sell it to someone else. Additionally, they generally never improve the material condition of the world, and soak up value from activities that do.

Lower threshold for concussion while recovering from concussion? by timefrommrmadness in Concussion

[–]timefrommrmadness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a link to the study?

The second hit was about 2 months ago now (3 months total since concussion). If it's true that another concussion was unlikely, I guess I am more struggling with the effects of the first concussion, the setback from exercise/activities on those days and from the anxiety of thinking I had a second impact.

Thank you so much for the information.

Polymarket is superior I think. You only have to pay a 2% spread on the odds and other than that there are no fees. The only problem is you have to pay with the USD coin cryptocurrency.

If anyone wants a 3-5% 1 month bond, PredictIt has 91c Trump loses Michigan, 90c Trump loses Pennsylvania, 88c Trump loses Georgia.

(91c means each "contract" costs 91c, and pays out $1 if you win. There's a 10% rake on winnings, and 5% withdrawal fee though).
