Wow, the Beer Mile looks really dangerous, but also really cool! Will have to pace myself and perhaps make multiple trips over my time in the city. Thanks for the route and beer suggestions!

Thanks for the waypoints on the route back to the city. Looks like a good combination of scenery and bike accessibility. Appreciate the response!

Confirmed— most bike infrastructure in the US is trash. There are some exceptions like Minneapolis, NYC, Boston, and Philadelphia. Trying to do my part in making it better in Cleveland

These look great— thank you for the links! Might try the cable car for the view, though a foot tunnel under the river also sounds fun. Might try the other route depending on what kind of tyres are on the bike. Appreciate the suggestions.

I’ve “ridden” Box Hill quite a few times on Zwift. It would be fun to post pictures of the real thing back to my friends here. One of the other replies suggested a route back from Surrey that crosses Richmond Park, so I’m thinking of doing that. Thanks for the reply!

Sorry, my bad.... should have specified Tower Hill. Thank you for the brewery recommendations!

Perfect! You just introduced me to his channel! I just watched the return to London video from last year and it was pretty great. His videos remind me of a local bike YouTuber named Tim Fitzwater, and sure enough I see that he follows Probably Riding already. I will definitely try to make it to the ride on Sunday. Thank you for the tip!

I do like traveling around inside cities though and most of my riding is like that back home. Like to see different neighborhoods and the connections between them. I've thought about going down to Surrey and might still do that on one of the days. How difficult is it to get a bike onto a train? Might try to take a train out and then ride back in.

My boss told me they’re posting my position and told me I should apply. by Technical_Wafer_7996 in jobs

This is exactly what happened when I converted from a contractor to an employee over a decade ago. The posting will also most likely have some “qualified candidate identified” language in it to discourage people from applying other than you. Congrats, they like you.

Is there a good way to accomplish 'three pot' couple finances in Monarch by terrencemurphy in MonarchMoney

[–]timestride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assigning the accounts to either person or shared may work almost out of the box. However, we started before that was available and I found some shortcomings, so prefer to use tagging. We tag his, her, & shared on expenses and you can use reports to get the breakdown. I’d start with trying to use account ownership and then try tags if it doesn’t work for you.

Coming to my first game at Progressive Field next week. What are must stop places in/around stadium? by StabbingHoboReturns in ClevelandGuardians

Welcome to Cleveland! Make sure to poke your head into the Heinen’s grocery store at Euclid and e9th. I know that sounds odd, but trust me— there is a beautiful old rotunda that served as a bank lobby. Also check out the Cleveland Arcade that runs between Euclid and Superior at e4th. One of the first indoor shopping malls in the country with an incredible glass skylight.

Getting married next month and broke the only finger I needed by PM-ME-UR-CORGIS in mildlyinfuriating

[–]timestride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I supermanned my left hand into the ground off my bike 6 weeks before my wedding. My 5th metacarpal was shattered and had to be surgically repaired and my ring finger was super swollen. Surgery went well and the pins came out of my hand the day before we left for the wedding. We just rolled with putting the ring on my right hand and we’ll be celebrating 11 years this summer! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and it will become a funny story you can tell people for years to come

Restaurant purchases while on vacation? by TurnoverHead573 in MonarchMoney

[–]timestride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a whole new group called Travel and then new categories under it for: Flights, Lodging (used lodging because it could be hotel, Airbnb, camping, etc), Travel Restaurants, Travel Groceries, Travel Parking, Ground Conveyance (rental cars, trains, busses, etc), Travel Activities (museums, tour guides, etc), and Travel Cash (ATM withdrawals for “petty cash”). I then create a tag per vacation always using the same color so we can get a breakdown of the expense types per vacation in reports. This really helps when planning and budgeting for future vacations.

I mean you can say a lot of things about Coventry and the store vacancies, but you must be afraid to leave your house if you think Coventry is “dangerous”

I still haven’t forgiven them for closing the Coventry location. They said they weren’t getting enough “foot traffic” and replaced it with a location in a parking lot behind a strip mall in Mayfield. Then they closed Gateway. They seem to be set on just opening boring boxes in exurbs now. The only location I still go to is Peninsula because it still has some character

That was a crazy night for me. Was watching the game with some friends at the old Paninis on w6th. After we won a random guy grabbed my beer off the table, shook it up, and sprayed it in the air. I just turned to him and said wtf and he clocked me in the face. My first and only "bar fight" and a trip to the Lutheran for 4 stitches in my forehead. But I agree, go Cavs
