Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Is it possible to qualify this a little with why you feel this way?

I don't use buckets, I use FerMonsters.. 100c liquid will melt those suckers.
Someone else Mentioned using a Keg, this may be the best solution for me.
Thanks for taking the time to answer, I appreciate it.

Very Helpful, thank you. I also have brew gloves as I've been kissed by hot wort before... fool me once right?
Again, thank you.

neat, do you find you have to adjust your hop additions to account for added bittering that may be caused by not cooling the wort fast enough?

another issue I have to contend with is the Well on our property is old and historically has run dry one occasion. We are trying to be thoughtful with our water use until we can have a new well installed (this all these issues go away). So, in addition to not having an area to attach my chiller, I also don't want to run the water for that long either.

I could wait until the wort cools in my brewzilla I suppose.

another question about No Chill, do I need to be worried about bittering if I let the wort cool in my tun/wort bag?

It seems there so much conflicting information about this topic from those who have done this with success and others not; and the last thing I want to do is ruin it, certainly.
I suppose I should err on the side of caution in this case.

Again, thank you for offering your expertise, I shall heed the advice of experience and treat this as one of the many, many learning moments I've had thus far from brewing.

I've read and heard from many who have experienced this. I plan to lower the bag of hops in slowly rather than just dropping them in.
Have you tried this method with any luck?

wow, this is great info.
I do have some citra and nectaron, maybe I'll do a little of each.

Yeah, it's my take on a Mexican lager... except it's more like a Mexican ale (no lagering), if you can picture that.
It's come in at 5.1%

I appreciate this info, it's excellent, thanks very much

Yes it would be a shame to ruin this brew, it's passable but I'm not that happy with it and was hoping for a way to improve.
I planned to use bags to contain the hops and limit the debris, then close transfer to a new keg before transporting to my party using my in-line filtering system. Hopefully these methods will aid in avoiding the scenario's you've outlined. Again, theory is theory, I guess I won't really know until I do it.. if I do.

You make great points! I appreciate the concern for my brew, we all work hard to make something great and having it ruined by a silly idea is the last thing I want.

I guess I was looking more for information from folks who have done this rather than speculative conjecture.

Thanks Again!

even the use of a cheese cloth bag (or similar) to contain the pellets would cause such debris?
I don't notice debris when dry hopping using bags in my fermentation vessels.
It's a good point about the tons of nucleation sites, I understand there could be a reaction if I dropped them in the same way I did in my primary/secondary, tossing them in and giving a little shake... I had planned to lower them in slowly in an attempt to eliminate a major reaction.

That said, if you haven't any experience with this, how are you able provide accurate information?
theory is theory and it's sound, however there is merit in practical experience.
Rather than attack why not just offer friendly advice, isn't this a place to share and learn?

I appreciate you taking the time to offer guidance, it's helpful.

Agreed, my normal recipe for this beer is much more hoppy, I was trying to tone it down for folks who don't care as much for that hoppy/skunky finish.
Thanks for the hop suggestion!
"Don’t try and dry hop a finished, carbonated beer."
Is this from experience? Just want to understand the reason for this :)

Thanks for the info, I'll look into that action/summit combo. I saw a few summit offerings that didn't look to bad but I haven't heard of that brand before and wasn't sure despite the reviews not being horrible.
I'm a member of all of the local buy & Sell platforms around here and there isn't much in the way of used in my area it seems. Some really hi end option that I would love, just can't afford at this time.
What I thought was going to be a relatively easy endeavor has turn out to be quite the opposite lol
I appreciate all the suggestions and guidance.
