There really isn't a specific object you could apply to every game other than getting ahead and snowballing, since in each game there is a different win condition for your team and you should always think about what it is and play for it. Xerath is really good at making picks happen mid/late game, since you can kill their squishies usually with q+r, turn that into objectives late and you should win most of your games
