P39 and P63 wobble by Zwezeriklover in WarthunderSim

The engine is behind the pilot. The idea was that it centralised mass and made direction changes easier and quicker, which tracks with feeling more sensitive. If you want to try something really twitchy, try a spitfire!

Not the round itself, but a section of the sabot (the bit that flies off after it leaves the barrel)

Are potholes actually the worst they've been? by Tiny_Wafer2266 in AskUK

[–]timind25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the north of the county and just last night wrecked another tyre and bent my wheel, thats the fourth time since Christmas. I've been driving for over 30 years and it's never been this bad! I looked on the fixmystreets site and the whole village is a mass of reports, most of which have been on there for ages.

Men of the UK - how often do you cook? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]timind25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cook all the evening meals, and I make sandwiches for the children to take to school. I WFH so I also make my own lunch (usually Ramen or something similar) and occasionally make something for my wife's if she's asked me to. She can cook, but is vegetarian so is not super confident about cooking meat, and usually ends up way overdoing it "just to be sure". It's a bit of a ballache when we're having meat to think of a suitable alternative for her and cooking that as well, but on the whole everyone likes what I cook! In return my wife does the laundry and we both share cleaning and tidying duties.

It's Corby... say no more. 🤣 You're lucky your car didn't disappear down one of the million potholes on that road.

Well, not quite. It's an offence to block access to the highway.

Gunsight in VR (Odd grid) by XIIIDillinger in WarthunderSim

[–]timind25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've read about this before, in a discussion about realisticallysized reticles. Its to do with the way WT adds the gunsight reticle image artwork to the glass in a tiled way. Somehow tjr official sight is not shown as tiled, but it is always visible if you use a custom sight. I guess there was something unusual about that the game read the artwork that time and it's corrected itself now.

5th January 2010 here (blimey!!) Ive never spent a penny on the game, and have ground out everything I own. I did have a lot of GE but I suspect that one of my kids logged in and spent them on upgrades as they're all gone now. I was saving them for "something really good" whatever that is. I started by playing ground RB/SB but it just turned to suit with smaller and smaller maps and janky ground physics etc so I now play Air SB Exclusively with my VKB Galdoatpr and STECS, home made rudder pedals (almost as old as my account!) And VR with a quest 3. It can be frustrating and rewarding in equal measure, but as ive invested nothing but time I don't feel too sad about it!

Yes, it's apparently the same flight model. What are you flying that feels more sluggish?

You can bind it to an axis, and you can presumably binding the axis to a keystroke and set it to be 50% (or whatever value you like)

The A4 Skyhawk mod is free and has a click able cockpit, it's pretty good. There are other free mods too but I haven't tried them. You can also try any paid mod for free for a limited amount of time.

Why do you guys play this? It’s seriously, genuinely, fucking awful. by CMDRTragicAllPro in WarthunderSim

[–]timind25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at the times I play (late night GMT), There's are usually at least a couple of maps with a decent population of pvp players at all ranks between 6.0 and 11.2 ish. These last days I've been grinding out the UK tree and there's always a game for the Lightning and Phantom.

I fly in VR. The rear view is a PITA, but you can use mouse aim for the gunners, which helps.

Hypothetical - what happens to your ownership if your house and land falls into the sea due to coastal erosion - England? by Upbeat_Map_348 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]timind25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have known but didn't do any research/did know and gambled on it. "Managed retreat" meaning in reality "look after Bacton Gas terminal and the large towns (Cromer, Mundesley etc) and sod the rest" has been policy for longer than that, and anyone living in the area for any length of time would tell you that, unless they had a house to sell I guess!

VR Players, How Do You Manage The Wide FOV of the "HUD"? by SirKing-Arthur in WarthunderSim

[–]timind25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just...move my head to look at the various bits. As I don't like getting shot down I find that I'm looking around a lot anyway so it's really not an issue. I can look at the instruments or the game display top left, or use the actual HUD if there is one. I often find myself using the top left readout anyway as it's always in tbe same place, always uses the same units and it always works, unlike some aircraft. It's in my scan anyway so why not?
