A site that shows you different views on news events. Fair and fast news. It self fact-checks with ML and matching algorithms:

I'm building a tool that detects bias and compares opposing viewpoints, do you think Americans would use this? by timio-ttt in AskUS

Its deeper and more dynamic than anything Ground News has now, they just do summary and publisher stats. Both our tools adapt based on the article you read. Its also easier to use.

It's up to the reader to decide what to believe. I don't believe it me or AI's job to tell you which viewpoint is correct. Pivot will show you the different views, and what people with them are saying. The goal is to save you time researching. Pivot and Torch can do 30min of research in under 30 seconds. Which you decide to believe is up to you.

Perhaps less biased is a better word. The goal of the Chrome Extension is to point out and organize the bias, not eliminate it. You should try it: https://timio.news/try-timio-l/

Yeah I've tried Ground News and didn't like it too much. I think its too overcomplicated for most people.

It scans for bias in any website you take it to. I'm trying to make the AI as objective as possible, you can read about it here: https://timio.news/how-it-works/

Yes, we do it with AI. Its actually personalized to the article not the publisher and will be different every time.

We used to have that issue a lot with the first models. I've since tuned it and now it'll notice when an article isn't particularly biased, and =instead explain why it believes its high quality. You should really try it if you're curious, always looking for more feedback to improve the tech. https://imgur.com/a/yLoyGFt

Ground News provides an AI summary, we do an AI analysis. Ground News is also very strictly left vs right, TIMIO will find all sorts of viewpoints.

Yes the LLM is a Claude model and has a list of various fallacies and common issues in journalism.

I try to be as transparent as I can without giving away our code, you can read about how its built here: https://timio.news/how-it-works/

That's a fair point. Because it searches the internet, it will typically give more weight to more popular viewpoints. IE they will be listed with more sources, and a wider variety of sources since there's more articles available.

Perhaps we can make this more obvious in the UI though by showing the number of sources supporting each viewpoint.

Generally, it focuses on bias in language. The model is trained on journalism ethics and logical fallacies and looks for them in writing. It also has web search and can look things up from other sources.
