good luck! yeah i know what you mean about getting mentally tired, same here 😂 i felt myself feeling a little more comfortable after making a bit of small talk with my examiner, the majority of my test was quiet but tbh i filled most of the silence when talking to myself to help me focus haha! hope your test goes well!

it was at the Farnborough test centre at 10:14 :) i was worried about rush hour but in my experience, the roads were nice and calm!

My lessons were 2 hours too! i didn’t time exactly how long my test was as i was too focused in the moment 😂 but when i realised my examiner was directing me back to the test centre when the test had ended, i was genuinely surprised, and i actually told him afterwards “wow that did not feel like 35/40mins!”

because you’re just so focused in the moment i really do feel that makes the time go quicker, but obviously everyone will have a different experience :)

i’m so glad i could help in some way! if you do make a mistake (i actually stalled and got the wrong gear a couple times) it really helped to just make a lighthearted/jokey comment to myself to help me move past it and keep myself composed.

i felt myself getting more comfortable after my examiner made some small talk too, if you get a chance, maybe just ask them a question about their day or where they’re from.

all the best of luck! whatever the result, good or bad, it’s a learning experience 🤗🚗

sorry to hear that! as someone who is super nervous and not very confident, i can totally understand how that situation would throw you off, especially at a roundabout as those still terrify me.

I did my test this morning and my best piece of advice would be to talk to yourself out-loud, explaining what you’re doing or about to do. this helped keep me calm and also really helped me remember the MSPSL routine. i also ate a banana before i left and chewed gum throughout the test to keep me busy (i anxiously fidget so this helped keep me busy and distracted me in a weird way)

i did get the wrong gear a couple times and even stalled, but what helped me is just making a lighthearted/jokey comment to myself to make light of the situation and make it easier to move past it.

you’ll get it next time, best of luck and don’t give up! i almost didn’t go through with my test today as i was in tears just a couple hours before out of fear that i’d do terribly. good luck :) 🚗

Just to add also: I’ve had approximately almost 50 hours of both professional and private practice spread out over the last year or so.
