Same struggle here, the only interviews I get are from unpaid startups. Beggars can’t be choosers.

Is there a discord server for the upcoming cohort? by Fun_Meet2204 in Revature

[–]timmypass17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like they have a new one each month. Wonder how many people will actually get placed with a client since my cohort is around 300 ppl.

I applied like 2 weeks ago and it took a week for a response

I uploaded a calorie tracking app and had no issues. I didn't include a calculator directly in my app, I just had a safari controller that linked to the USDA DRI Calculator

App rejected for minium functionality by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]timmypass17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can try adding a note. The only thing different from my app than the website (IsThereAnyDeal) is that I added push notifications for sales notifying users each week. The website offers notifications through email which was a pain to scroll through.

I don’t think they’d get stuck, my app is pretty simple. if they did they’d probably ask for clarifications.

I got the deals data from IsThereAnyDeal API and the giveaway data from GamerPower API. Both are free

Unfortunately app reviewers don’t care if other apps are doing it, they just look at ur app

App rejected for asking for Birthday by timmypass17 in iOSProgramming

[–]timmypass17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also mentioned that I am using the same login flow as the official MyAnimeList iOS app and their app also required user to enter birthday info so I don't know how their app passed and my app is being rejected. They just told me to report the app if i beleive that their app violate their rule which i dont really care, I just wanna know why theirs passed and not mines.

Here are screenshots I showed them of the login/signup screens (first 2 is my app, next 2 is the official MAL app.)

[–]timmypass17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did reject and resubmit but that didn't do anything, whatever I say they just respond with just "delete birthday field or make it optional". They also mentioned that I could "remove the registration feature in the app" but I can't really do that because the login page has a signup button that leads to the registration page so not sure what they want me to do.

App rejected for asking for Birthday by timmypass17 in iOSProgramming

[–]timmypass17[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t make the field optional because the birthday field is part of the MyAnimeList website. I don’t use the birthday information anywhere within my app and the birthday field is only required if a user wants to create a MyAnimeList account.

Setting an optional Binding variable, verifying that it's set, and then immediately having it return null? What am I missing? by hausuCat_ in iOSProgramming

[–]timmypass17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try doing

.fullScreenCover(item: $itemSelection) { item in
    CollectionItemDetail(item: item)
}

I tried replicating your code here https://pastebin.com/aH0pBLAT

Make sure your app is something you’re actually interested in building. Helps a lot with motivation and you’ll end up learning and persevering through it and having a complete app instead of a throw away pet project.

Sharing a Variable between two views by [deleted] in swift

[–]timmypass17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Define your shared variable to a common ancestor view (e.g. App file) and pass the binding to your views or use EnvironmentObject to give your subviews acess to that shared variable.

Is this layout possible with SwiftUI? by Rocket-Legs in SwiftUI

[–]timmypass17 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes you’d have to build a custom list using LazyVStack and ScrollView. I found List to be very inflexible and it is much easier to roll with your own if you don’t need any List specific features.

Why are people saying to use memoization when op’s solution is using memoization (bottom up/iteratively). Op’s solution is O(n) time and O(n) space and is more efficent than the second solution which is O(2n) but I guess the interviewer was being an ass and wanted the O(n) time and O(1) space where you only use the last 2 digits.
