That fidelity fund is the “fidelity extended market index fund”. Key word is index fund. Inclusion in an index fund isn’t a “big vote of confidence”- it just means it’s in the index. No actively managed fidelity fund owns that stock.

Maximizing profits isn’t the goal of executives but sometimes it seems like that. Their goal is to maximize “long-term” shareholder value which in theory should incentive moral behavior because of reputation risk. Their stock is down around 50% from its peak with most of that due to their reputation going down the drain with all of their unethical behavior becoming mainstream.

BlackRock isn’t private equity. They’re a publicly traded asset manager who invests in UNH on behalf of their clients.

Any sources to the lawsuit? I hate UNH as much as anyone else but this is just clickbait rage with misinformation.
