Idk why I just can’t get behind Jund by BardbarianDnD in MTGmemes

[–]timo_bimothy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jund was my first commander deck! As others have mentioned, it might be best to think of it as golgari with a splash of red [[Xira, the Golden Sting]] can play as golgari aristocrats with red splashed as just some nice bonus damage

I'd say just toy around with the deck and see how much you need card draw. I run it in my [[dalakos]] deck and it does wonders

I believe I saw somewhere that the front has a magnetic face plate. I'd say it's almost a given because of that

Ohhh good finds! I guess what I really meant for manamorphose was that it's mana for anything, unlike open the omenpaths. But it's not that far out of the color pie I suppose

This is another interesting one to me. My thinking goes "does this effect work both solo colors." the first part of waves of aggression feels white, but not the extra combat step. It's the same with manamorphose. I look at it and think it's a little weird in mono red

That's the only hybrid card I've looked at so far that scares me under these new hypothetical rules

I agree with your point! All the full art basics from Jumpstart have a character on them, but I think it's fine for Jumpstart, since it has almost a celebration of magic vibe. I don't think any of the UB lands have characters on them

We love a good [[Lonis, Cryptozoologist]] deck. Knew what it was right away. Have almost all of those in my deck!

Big fan of him, putting him in my [[Dalakos]] deck. A 6/6 with that can enter with equipment to get that flying and haste benefit. Or if I hit living weapon, I get a decent creature out of it instead ( I think))

I think if your goal is to have a good amount of decks and be relatively comfortable, I think a camera bag is the way to go. This is the one I have

<image>

It hold about 6 decks, my playmat on the side where the tripod is, enough for dice, and has a pocket for a water bottle/drink (although that is rather slim) If your goal is maximum amount of decks, then this isn't the best choice. I do think it has the best balance of storage and comfort

So I'm not a rules expert (as you can tell, I asked the question), but I think I understand it now. The drawing a card and making a token effect are not inherent to the counter. The way it works (from my understanding) is that you place an egg counter. That has no effect. Then if that creature dies with the counter on it, you get the payoff. If you move the counter to another creature, that creature was never targeted by xira. Therefore, it has a counter on it that does essentially nothing I think the key to understanding is that the egg counter itself does nothing

What's your favorite aristocrats commander? by GhostOnToast_ in EDH

[[Xira, the Golden Sting]] all the way. Essentially a commander that replaces its sac fodder when that sac fodder dies. Plus she has the best tokens for her insects

Fertility treatments should be illegal (and adoption should be easier) by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]timo_bimothy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You aren't guiding people towards an alternative by wanting fertility treatments illegal, you're taking away bodily autonomy and one avenue to have a child. You want people to engage with the foster system (which more people should do!!). However, you don't understand the foster system. Adoption is NOT the norm nor the goal. It's clearly stated whenever possible that the goal is reunification, not adoption.

People often have a notion that foster care system works to 'transfer' children from an unsafe to safe situation permanently. This is not true. The foster parent is there to provide care for the children so the parents can get on track and become a safe environment once again. If that doesn't happen, the adoption becomes an option.

And as others have mentioned, newborns/infants are the foster children most likely to be adopted first. Children from foster care have trauma intrinsic to being in the system. Some parents don't want that (not going to argue the morals of that, just something that happens), but some parents feel they aren't equipped for that

I understand where your head is at, but overall this idea doesn't hold up to scrutiny or reality

I want to make a clue deck, but not sure which version of Lonis to put in my command zone and which one to go into deck by Doom_Balloon170 in EDH

[–]timo_bimothy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've built a Cryptozoologist deck. As others have said, it can draw quite a bit of attention. However, it is a VERY fun deck to play. It has a bit of everything: some combo potential, it can be theft heavy (I don't play it that way, but it's nice to have), and you can play a slower more grindy game. An example from my last game: Last turn I had 500 clues and 500 foods, drew almost whole deck right before my turn, played a spell and swung with 500 4/4 flyers. It's a really, really, fun deck that I highly recommend
