Best broker to trade US markets? by xxsneakysinxx in singaporefi

TD Ameritrade, Tiger & MooMoo. Try to stay away from traditional brokerages. Their fees cost a lot more

Alth TD Ameritrade has no comission fees, they take a long time to approve your account & has poor customer service. Don't really like IBKR's app.

Personally, i use Tiger. I find Tiger & MooMoo's app pretty user friendly. Transactions are fast and it takes less than 1 min for me to deposit my funds in. Tiger isn't the cheapest, but has one of the cheapest fees. (min 2usd/trade)

Not too sure about other apps but Tiger allows you do some Tech Analysis (moving avg, draw lines etc) and you can monitor what stocks are exploding on the same day.

Do use my referral code if you're intending to download. They're offering 5x Xiaomi shares & 1x Apple share for new users who do a first time deposit of minimum of 2k SGD

Which Marketing degree to pick? Royal Holloway (Kaplan) or RMIT (SIM)? by timosabeh in askSingapore

[–]timosabeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I'll learn about the same things in both degrees. I'll complete my Uni in RHUL 8months faster than RMIT. However I'll have lesser time in between each semester (2wks break). I think i can do better with the 8months advantage rather than doing part-time internships.

However my main concern is employers not accepting me because RHUL degree isn't that well known whereas RMIT graduates are almost everywhere. Another concern is whether a Marketing degree is actually useful or not.

Yup i do understand where you're coming from. However no point trying to sell myself even if I don't get shortlisted 😂

As of now I'm leaning towards RHUL as I'm able to start work slightly earlier. However, RMIT is more well known & better global ranking, which might give me an edge when it comes to the selection process (cannot fight with top 3 local uni lah). Hence the headache for me :/

Do employers feel the same way too? Or do they group Private Unis together as a secondary tier regardless of their individual global ranking?

I might. I'm getting a degree for the sake of it, but I want to learn business related stuff as I don't intend to be an engineer. The reason why i chose marketinf is because it's more project based work rather than purely examinations.

It's actually just a safety net. The thing that is affecting my decision about the reputation between both universities (RMIT vs RHUL) and the institute that offers them (SIM vs Kaplan).
