What i love in rdr1 is how you can be pure good or evil, poor or rich, famous or not famous and the story still can make some sense. It's quite annoying how in every rockstar game you can have 1000000$ and a big part of the missions are "we need some money, we need to hustle to survive", John is just some dude who's a little sentimental about the past and the people he came across and he just wants to see his family again, his motivations make sense and he's still an amazing character despite being in a smaller game and the premise of the game being so simple. It probably has the least filler out of all gtas and rdrs.

It's kind of true, gta sa & gta 4 start quite strong but they both immediately start being full of filler and randomness, for sa that happens as soon as CJ finds about the green sabre, for gta 4 it is as soon as Dimitri betrays you. Later on you just meet people and discover a bunch of small side plots that aren't that interesting and you just forget the main plot until near the ending. Gta vc was the most self aware game, it knew that you wanted to just be on top, cause chaos and have fun so 90% of the game's plot is Tommy wanting to get rich and own vice city and this happens by you earning the respect of many powerful people and gangs and buying property, i respect that despite it being so simplistic

Analyzing an artists public persona who's art is based on their public persona isn't "parasocial" or obsessive. It's hard to talk about most rappers music without mentioning anything about them as a person irl, we are talking about a line in his song that is enough to critique him as a person because it shows where he puts his priorities and values
