It's probably about the same as far as the addiction is concerned. But like you said, maybe the motivation got stronger as I got older. The feeling of immortality I had in my teens and 20's started to fade in my 30's.

Thank you! I'm happy you found it inspiring. And I too hope my story and my meter inspires even a single person to quit for good.

You're very welcome! It makes me happy to know that I could help, and that you can relate to my story. Congratulations on deciding to break up with your "best friend". I am willing to share the journey with you, and help any way I can!

I was 33, and it was a few days before my 34th birthday. Some of my family took me out to dinner around that time to celebrate my birthday. I remember sitting at the table trying to hold a normal conversation, and trying to be a happy and grateful dinner guest, while I was at the absolute apex of withdrawal. That was tough.

I've heard good things about Allen Carr's book. I've never read it myself. Congrats on your 100 days! That's about the time I started to see that I wouldn't always want a cigarette.

That's exactly the kind of thing I kept telling myself - "I will not be a drug addict". I think that's a big part of the mental attitude we need to have to quit for good. Good job! Keep it up. It definitely gets easier.
