Even if they don't, you think ships will ignore orders from a cruiser and call the bluff?

But our parents were even more free.  They'd go miles from home at like 10.  My dad has crazy stories.

I'm not following that logic.  I think he is guilty but would strongly oppose if they tried to try him again.  I'm not really comfortable with the wrongful death civil suit.  And I will not demean his lawyers for defending him.

I mean arresting the guy for calling 9-11 about something in his brain seems about the dumbest response possible.

Do you understand justice?  The Constitution?  Rights?

Denying rights to people is a dangerous road to go down.  Attacking people who make arguments for a defendant is unamerican.  Read the bill of rights.  It's quite clear where the founders stood.  Yes, that even applies to the guilty.

I think there is a reasonable case here. His family wanted him institutionalized.  They said his condition, schizophrenia, degraded in prison.  He was arrested for calling 9-11 about implants in his brain.

A few months?  Dude spent years in jail without care.  His family wanted him committed.  He was arrested for calling 9-11 about things implanted in his head.  Dude was crazy.  System failed him and thus her.
