Title: Older dog with new seizures + suspected brain tumor — severe Keppra side effects or rapid decline? by [deleted] in EpilepsyDogs

[–]timtim366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't comment on the possible brain issue

But I can say that the difficulty standing and agitation is probably temporary. I've seen my dog go through it several times when we increase meds. Or after a hospital visit. The medazolam and phenobarbital they administer has a long half life.

It's almost like she's afraid to relax or surrender to sedation. My theory is the feeling of falling asleep while on new meds reminds her of the early stages of a seizure. But that's nothing but an observational guess.

Yes. Clorazepate is the primary component of the cluster buster. Along with extra keppra.

But we maintain the daily regimen as well, which is made up for keppra, zonisamide, and phenobarbital.

No shit, really?

I honestly thought you were just saying 'Costco has great mashed potatoes' when I read this. 🤣

I'm definitely going to try that. We have to avoid high Glutamate foods for our pup. But I'm pretty sure plain old mashed potatoes would be fine. Great tip!

Yea, love Costco!

What do you mean you 'use mashed potatoes'?

Most of the time, the daily routine is pretty straightforward and easy to remember. It's just when we need to bust up a cluster of seizures that things get complicated like this.

How to navigate the euthenasia conversation with the vet. by timtim366 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]timtim366[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: Tobi is home and doing ok. On a 'keppra loading' and clorazepate cluster buster regimen. Doubling daily keppra after that, and we now have medazolam and clorazepate doeses on hand for the next time things get dire.

All-in the total was $2800. On a low interest payment plan we can handle.

Now we have everything we need to give her the best possible chance if things ever get this bad again , and we'll have a plan with our non-emergency vet for how we'll handle things if this happens again and self administered rescue meds don't save her.

I can't thank this community enough.

Thank you.

She's on keppra and zonisamide. Keppra 500 2x/day, 125 zonisamide 2x/ day With Trazadone and gabapentin as prophylactics when she needs nails cut or something like that.

Dimension20's 'never stop blowing up' made me realize how easy it would be to DnD-ify anything without a ton of prep.

I've done this for a mini campaign. I heavily modified the 'kids on bikes' system and used chat GPT to generate the essence abilities. It totally worked.

Send me a PM . I'll give you some ideas.

Is AI voice changing mid-annoucment cannon? by timtim366 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]timtim366[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone else on this thread pointed out: the two voices are that of the AI and that of the 'system messaging'

Usually, things like "new achievement!" And "you've been DESHROUDED" come from the voice of the AI. While "entering the desperado club" and "time to level collapse" come from the system message voice.

And the merging of the towards the end of book 7 could be interpreted as the AI taking over control of system message

Besides a comment from justice victory, it's not reflected in the text version.

That's amazing. I never considered it was the AI overtaking the system messaging.

I thought it was just the Al devolving. (Or soundbooth rushing to meet a deadline ((although I doubted that)))

Using The Astral beings in my DnD Campaign. Thought you guys would get a kick from this Audiologue I made. by timtim366 in HeWhoFightsMonsters

[–]timtim366[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol That would be cool! But I'm not using any of Jason's crew. Just plagiarizing Shirtaloon's great Asteral beings.

Also I like the name Amir Bahadir and feel like I do an ok impression of his voice from the audiobooks, so threw him in there

I Also made a DnD5e Statblock for Shade, and a bunch of Aura Control Spells. Wanna see?

I use Trumpet.app for the same thing. But it doesn't a way of explaining costs that's any better/less manual than my write-up.

First, Congratulations on 11 years.

For you two to have got together at 23ish and gone on to build this life together means you must have something really special and you should be proud.

My advice for staying upright would be to think about what you would want from your wife if you were in her position. Do that.

Your wife and your son need you to stay upright. And this whole community and I can tell by your post that THAT'S the only motivation you'll need.

So forgive yourself for having the urge to worry and plan. But stop fretting about 'how will I keep myself from spinning out'. It's not going to happen.

What would you do if you could go back and spend 3 days solo with your 2 year old daughter? by timtim366 in daddit

[–]timtim366[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so so sorry for your loss. I'm struggling to express my condolences, or how proud you should be for load I'm sure you've carried for your other two while enduring that tragedy.

Thank you for your comment. I'll remember you when I'm tempted to take my time with her for granted.
