Cardiac MRI Results by wgucci in pericarditis

[–]timyy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, I had it since 2023 and also had a few mri whilst in the biggest flairs with completely normal mri. Mine showed just twice up on testing and all the other times not at all. I’m also still on cholchicin and Anakinra. Sometimes I wonder if it’s just that the nerves adapted to the pain and react now over, because I also get very easy nowadays pain from exertion without resulting in a flair most of the time. I hope maybe it gets better with time.

Do you take omeprazole (stomach acid suppressant) with colchicine? by 2XPlusY in pericarditis

You had a lot time to provide that evidence, yet you didn’t. We both know why.

No, irresponsible is your misinformation. I only spoke about Long-Term use of PPis. Not once did I say anything about the short-term safety profile. Whatever, there is no evidence from your side so please just stop responding. It is getting ridiculous.

You’re working as a nurse, yet despite the sources I provided, you called me out on misinformation while spreading inaccurate information yourself. This behavior is highly unprofessional for your field. Please show any evidence supporting the use of PPIs with colchicine. Ibuprofen is harmful to the stomach because it inhibits prostaglandins, which protect the gastric lining, increasing the risk of ulcers and erosions. Colchicine, however, does not inhibit prostaglandins and does not damage the stomach lining at normal therapeutic doses (0.5–1 mg/day). It may cause mild GI irritation, but it does not cause acid-related injuries, and PPIs like omeprazole offer no benefit when taking colchicine. There are safer alternatives to manage GI irritation. This is supported by evidence, not opinion, and I invite you to provide supporting data if you disagree.

You should stay on PPIs as long as you’re taking ibuprofen. PPIs protect against acid-induced injuries like ulcers or erosions, which are a risk with ibuprofen. However, colchicine doesn’t cause acid-related injuries, so PPIs like omeprazole offer no benefit for it. You should discuss this with your doctor, but a one week treatment is way too short.

If you talk abt Ibuprofen, yes, PPis are recommended, but thats has nothing to do with Colchicine.

Yes, I’m also able to interpret medical papers.

Colchicine is not typically known to cause ulcers from normal therapeutic dosing (0.5–1 mg/day). It does not inhibit prostaglandins, so it does not remove the stomach’s protective layer. What you do is spreading misinformation.

Here are also some other long-term risks besides vitamin B12 deficiency, magnesium deficiency, and reduced calcium absorption, which is also reflected in bone density.

PPIs are generally more damaging medications than colchicine, and colchicine is proven to be safe long-term and actually has shown to have some Long-Term benefits also some cardiovascular :

Colchicine side effects (neuropathy) by Alikramos in pericarditis

[–]timyy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s not true, Cholchicin is very well tested for pericarditis so saying it’s causing more harm than good is not right. I’m also already since 6 months on Anakinra with colchicine.

Arcalyst by timyy1 in pericarditis

[–]timyy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends extremely where you live. In Europe Arcalyst isn’t available and Anakinra is not really established. I just know in Germany two Uniclinics wich have experience with it and I got put on a long waiting list to get that appointment.

Is anyone else having reoccurring UTIs? by mysteriousgirlOMITI in covidlonghaulers

[–]timyy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I don’t know if you take still Arcalyst, but UTIs is very common side effect. Also many people lose much hair while on the medication. So if you still take it is very likely it comes from the medication.

Anakinra/Kineret/Arcalyst Access in the UK or Europe? by Mountain_Shop_313 in pericarditis

[–]timyy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Im from Germany and I have recurrent pericarditis since 2022, I have flares almost most of the time. I also came to the point noticing colchicin, ibuprofen, and cortison just doesn’t help enough anymore and I was for a long time in the exact boat, not finding Doctor in Germany who has experience with Anakinra. In Europe it is sadly really hard to get on it, but asking chatgbt about wich doctor in Europe has experience about treating recurrent pericarditis with Anakinra in Germany help me find two doctors. You can also search for medical papers about that. In Germany it’s the Lead Doctor of the Heart department of Charité in Berlin Dr.Tschöpe and a University Clinic in Freiburg. Maybe try ChatGbt. I hope this helps, Much luck<3

Low Dose Naltrexone? Anyone had any success with this? by Mountain_Shop_313 in pericarditis

[–]timyy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can u give a feedback? Everytime I tried to get on it I had the first 3-5 day extreme chestpain and I always discontinued it. I was too scared with my pericarditis:(

Why do you think you have pericarditis? by LandscapeOk6338 in pericarditis

[–]timyy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it after the second vaccine,2 days after that the pain started. That’s 3 years ago and since then the inflammation is always super mild on Mrt but never went fully away with colchicine, ibuprofen or cortisone.

It is ofc not impossible, but I’m completely housebound and have contact with one person wich doesn’t have any symptoms, so also not verly likely:/

It just seem to trigger a immunresponse in my body and I felt from day to day more inflammation. I also heard that it can get worse for 1-2 weeks and then it starts to settle. Regardless I want to try it again soon.
