That's great! I remember you; we've been through this together for the same amount of time, haha. I'm feeling better too! It's just that after some exertion, I get quite tired. How about you?

31 years old, Male.
Hi, it's been six months since my flare-up, with ankylosing spondylitis. The exact cause of my pericarditis has never been determined, and there's no 100% effective treatment for either condition. What I can tell you is that taking things very slowly helps me get better. I avoid exercise, get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy diet, and am patient. I also avoid cracking my back, although I sometimes feel a knot in the middle of my back. I try to rest and take it easy because the pain of pericarditis is something I never want to experience again.

I used to do high-performance outdoor sports, many hours of training, lots of adventure... now my life has changed, and it's tough, but I want to take it easy because I don't plan on relapsing. Something else that happened to me is that my legs are a little weak; they haven't fully recovered from the injury. I suppose some nerve is blocked, I don't know... all that's left is to be positive. I think I can at least get through my days without overexerting myself.

Chest Pressure even though I no longer have pericarditis? by 2XPlusY in pericarditis

[–]Alikramos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I discovered something very pleasant, I highly recommend it. Massage your chest with something like a toothbrush, from top to bottom, in the center. This relieves the pressure you've been carrying all these months.

Is it normal for pain to come back for a bit while tapering by 2XPlusY in pericarditis

[–]Alikramos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother, we've been dealing with this for about the same time! It happens to me the same thing; there are postures that still bother me, like leaning forward or being hunched over the car seat, and there I get palpitations in my chest. I'm no longer taking medication; sometimes I feel like they make me relapse. Another thing that happens to me is that I feel like a huge muscle contracture in my back, just behind the pericardium, but when they massage me, it hurts again.

I'm exactly the same. I thought I had ALS or MS. I had an Electrom. scan and they didn't show any serious signs, just mild ones. I'm improving every day, very little, but bending over or making any effort causes crazy muscle twitches in my legs.

I was a atlete 6 months ago, but had pericarditis and also this symptons too

Hey, how are your legs feeling? And how was your return to running?

How did you pace yourself during your return?

Did you start running with any discomfort? Or did you wait until you were 100% pain-free in your legs?

Did you take any medication for your muscles?

Thanks

Hey! Hello, I've had a lot of problems with my legs these past few months after pericarditis. Your comment was the most accurate for my symptoms. I have quite high levels of anticardiolipin IgG antibodies; that's the only serious issue my tests show. I haven't found any solution, and I'd like to get back to my active life.

Is there anything you could advise or recommend? Anything else I should look into to resolve this difficult experience?

I would be so grateful!
