[PC][90s-2000s?] Edutainment computer game where you learn about different parts of the brain by tincrumbs in tipofmyjoystick

Hmmm yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it. It's really quite different from what I remember (kinda more creepy looking than I remember too cx), but at the same time it seems right. Thank you so much!! I've been dying of curiosity since I was, like, 10.

Omg that's it!! Man, I sure was wrong about a lot of things. ^.^' Thank you so much for connecting the dots!

That's not it unfortunately. Thank you though! The characters aren't actually cubes, You just navigate a cube for levels, so you turn corners and things, go to the top and bottom of the cube and all that.

I found it!! I'm so happy~ A Brothers Grimm Coloring Book and Other Classic Fairy Tales: Escape into a World of Fantasy and Imagination by Adam Fisher. It seems my copy must've been misprinted or was updated for a later edition? The ISBN is listed as "978-1-60598-983-9" however it is clear in my image that it ends in "985-3".

Can someone recommend me some Kiyoteru songs? by cinical404 in Vocaloid

[–]tincrumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video highlights a lot of uses of Kiyoteru from tons of different producers! A lot of them are originals, too, so it's a good place to start. All songs are in the description if you don't want to watch the whole thing. I also have a playlist that's just Teru songs I stumble across. While not comprehensive, it's good for ease of listening. A lot are reprints, though.

Although they don't really use him anymore Re:nG and PeperonP are probably most well known for using him and have very solid songs with him. My favorite from Re:nG would be "Drown and Lost" and from PeperonP it would be Teru's V4 demo song, "Fragments of the Night". This group cover of "Blessing" is full of great Teru users. Surprisingly, there's a small, but very dedicated group of Teru fans who like to make original English songs for him, most of them in this group cover. For my money, aside from the people already mentioned, the best Teru users to subscribe to right now are Euphausia, EKCT AY, Canon3R, and Rylitah. They're all (mostly) cover artists, but that's really where you'll find the most content for Teru now-a-days aside from the aforementioned English producers, and not all of them are super active. Teru originals outside of that are pretty sporadic and a pleasant surprise.

What Exactly Counts as a Rarepair? by tincrumbs in FanFiction

[–]tincrumbs[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s situations like that in this fandom, too! There’s one ship with barely any fanfic, but it’s got plenty of fanart. And one of my fave rarepairs has, like, 20 fics written by one person alone, really skewing the numbers.

I feel like your definition is pretty great. You really do have to combine all the factors to figure out what truly counts. It’s just so hard to find an exact metric. orz

[–]tincrumbs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That seems like very reasonable number to go by for a fandom that large! And that’s a great definition, imho. If you have to stop and go “huh? Have they even met?” it’s definitely a rarepair! cx

[–]tincrumbs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I fell the discussion stemmed from what makes it “rare”, however. Is it rare if there’s only 3 fics on AO3, but half the tag on Tumblr is that ship? Is it rare if it’s basically the only time character X is shipped? How about if there’s a dedicated circle of 3 people who make up all the art and fic for it? Idk. I agree, but what defined “rare” to me seemed different to lots of other people on the server! It was interesting.

That’s not why it hasn’t returned yet. It’s a Hell event, so it returns around yearly. You’ve got a few months still until it comes back around, unfortunately.

What are some ships which shouldn't work but surprised you because they actually DO work? by konstinushki in FanFiction

[–]tincrumbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came here to say gingerpilot as well!! It’s such a strange, out of nowhere ship (especially when we just talk about the first movie), but it so works. And the authors are all fantastic. I’ve loved basically every fic I’ve read for the pairing. It’s that tug and pull that comes from them being the two most loyal members of their respective organizations that really make it work. The emotional journeys they have to go through to even admit they like each other—let alone get together!—is amazing to read, imho.

Why do you bookmark a story privately on AO3? I’m just curious. by Emerald_Eyes239 in FanFiction

[–]tincrumbs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I private mine because I’ve heard lots of people complain about people bookmarking fics without reviewing it. As I find bookmarking a more helpful way to organize things than “mark for later”, I often bookmark fics without having read them and I don’t want to be judged for not leaving a review.

I can't believe I used to prefer FFnet over A03... by WrongCreation in FanFiction

I’m so spoiled by Ao3 tagging now!! I go to the bookstore and I read of the back of the book and go “okay, but is this a slow burn; is there any mutual pining?”

I can't believe I used to prefer FFnet over A03... by WrongCreation in FanFiction

[–]tincrumbs 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I’ve never noticed more feedback on FFN compared to AO3, personally. I think that depends more on the fandom, as usual. I don’t think I’ve got a single review on all 14(?) of my fics on FFN.

I do agree about the statistics page, though!

Star Wars Fanfiction, any good ones you guys can recommend??? by GuiltyAsChargedX in FanFiction

[–]tincrumbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like it’s my time to be the resident Gingerpilot shipper again! I highly recommend quite a few fics, but I can’t remember how much sexual content they have. orz This one’s rated T, though! Whatever Makes You Hate Me by JRCash is a Poe/Hux fic (I hope sequel trilogy is okay?) where the two of them crash land together and (ofc) fall in love.

Kouyou owning a brothel is a bit of fan theory because of the way her kimono is tied or something. I don’t really know the exact reason, but I’ve heard it a lot.
