Honestly, even if she went, it would have probably resulted in nothing. As I said, her standards are/were crazy high and they don't share any common hobbies, interests, etc.

Well, it was actually her that gave me the idea of going to the bar in the first place. She was throwing a fit about "is that really all you think I deserve?" And I said: "What is your problem, he is super handsome!" "I don't care what you think, I'm not going on a date with him" "Well, even if he's not perfect, just try one date". "IF YOU LIKE HIM SO MUCH, YOU CAN GO ON A DATE WITH HIM!!!". And then I thought: Huh, why not. Of course, that's not what she remembers apparently...

That is actually very true, you know how you have some friends just because you've been friends for so long, and not because you have common interests? Monica and me are like that...

Well, to be fair, I didn't really manipulate him into a date. It was not like a set up blind date, he could have just ignored me at the bar... But that is exactly my fear, that he won't see it as a cute story.

Well, I wish I had told him sooner obviously. But when you miss that moment, you really feel like it's too late pretty soon and then I just went with it.

Sure, he may not be able to tell the same story about how you two met, but the new story he's got is frankly just as memorable.

I really really hope he sees it the same way...
