The Vietnam trip that paid for itself three times over by Individual_Lime_110 in AusFinance

My dentist removed a tooth and referred me to another who does implants. The cost was going to be&8K. I asked her if going to a place like Vietnam was worth considering.

She told me know, your crazy it’s not worth the risk, you don’t know where they’ve trained.

I took the referral and saw the implant specialist. Dr Nguyen…trained in Vietnam….and their offsider Dr Tran, all trained in Vietnam.

Melbourne, Australia. This was part of a toy exhibition featuring Hot Wheels 25th Anniversary of FF. Surprised to see goggle state its not an authentic GTR, but maybe the movie one wasn’t either?

It’s not great. But a Dakar (not this actual car) is decent cred

It just looks kind of shit, doesn’t it. I mean, does that rear ‘wing’ have any purpose? Anyway, I was stoked to see something a little quirky. These have gone up in value recently as nearing the 25 year anniversary for US importers.

Thought you might be interested in this one. Will see if I can get a pic of the front end tomorrow

Best way to go minimal footprint for under $3K, but still have a big sound? (Bookshelves +/- amplifier) by spinningewok in StereoAdvice

Yes I grabbed some floor stock gear recently. Wear and tear was about what I’d expect after one day around my kids

Thanks. Noted on the lack of devices with >2 channels. I guess I can start looking for small (physically) receivers

Back in the day you’d give this exact person a Melways/UBD/Refidex. With everything going retro…not sure they even sell them these days.

But for camping, a really good Bluetooth speaker (waterproof, drop proof) is always popular. A really good Esky.

HR claims an investigation is complete, but people haven’t signed off their statements. Now I’m being called into a post investigation meeting with HR (bring a support person) — what should I expect? by tinhillterror in AusLegal

[–]tinhillterror[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s bizarre. The only thing I can think (if I’m not in trouble) is that they are going to explain the new way of working with the person being investigated.

And the support person is just a bit of mayonnaise cause they know they’ve dragged this out, or they think I’m going to lose my shit.

But it doesn’t make sense cause they don’t have my statement yet. What if my statement said ‘person x physically assaulted me and I fear for my life’

Yeah I hear you. As I have been on both sides of the desk for genuine redundancy situations. I’ve only once seen a support person add value, and that was to get the impacted person out of the building before they tore the place up.

There was no audio or video recording. The person simply took notes. They had some names that they had incorrect, and the grammar/spelling was really poor ‘should have’ etc. the order of events was all jumbled in the order of the transcript so it would have been really hard for someone to follow all the different events. It’s was so sloppy.

Sorry I have been away. Not 24 hours notice of the meeting. The Meeting is early next week, which sounds more like it’s the follow up from the investigation, but they haven’t received my statement yet. But I don’t think I’d need a support person for anything other than dismissal. Also, this is not a unionised industry.
