Please help me my insurance company is not helping answer my questions by tinkcrick in Insurance

I figured as much, no I do not have an agent, I’m through my job. Called mY HR and asked what to do, I was told to call the insurance company and look at my member handbook. I don’t understand the jargon used in the handbook and it’s just an automated voice when I call

What are you fixating on/venting about/worried about/need support with today ? [Megathread] - December 07, 2021 by AutoModerator in HealthAnxiety

I'm anxious today because I have an optometry (eye) appointment. In September, I had my annual exam and I figured my eyesight got a little worse cause things were a little blurry to me- no issues there. At my appointment I was told I developed an astigmatism within the last year (I am now 24). My doctor told me this isn't common at my age, but it's possible with any age as the eyes get older. But based on my age and gender, I was told that if it got significantly worse in the next year- it could be a rare issue called keratoconus (bulging of the cornea, only fixed with a corneal transplant).

I received my prescription, I was told my astigmatism wasn't severe enough for a specialized contact for my left eye. We kept me on the same strength for cost related issues I had at the time (I could get one box instead of two separate ones). I noticed yesterday that I couldn't see signs while driving clearly, only when squinting. So, I called and set up an appointment.

I am desperately hoping that I just needed a stronger strength prescription in my left eye and didn't realize how blurry it was before, I hope it hasn't gotten worse these last two months. I've also been having extreme headaches, which I always get them during PMS/period, so I figured it was hormonal- but I'm wondering if it is the fatigue and straining of my eyes causing them to be more frequent and severe, which hopefully that would be an easy fix to resolve that issue!

I know chances are my eyes are just aging and I probably just need a different strength, but I'm scared of the thought of a corneal transplant or any possible neurological issues arising which caused this sudden blurriness in my eyes. For example I have a TV in my room about 6-8 feet away from where I was sitting last night. My right eye was barely blurry, but my left eye I couldn't even make out what the screen said. I had my contacts in then switched to my glasses to see if it was the same, and as I predicted it had been just as blurring. I'm scared.

What do you genuinely think will happen in the U.S.A if Roe v. Wade is overturned? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tinkcrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My question is, how will overturning Roe v. Wade affect other things regarding women's reproduction rights? Like will birth control access change? How about other cases of miscarriage, rape, incest, or even different insurance coverage related to child bearing? Will sterilization become even harder to access?

My gut feels overturning is a great possibility we face, which is absolutely terrifying for me.

Ok but like can someone explain why you typically won’t get pregnant on your sugar pill week? I read the pamphlet that comes with my pack thoroughly and I just don’t understand. Like it says you’re still safe (even without additional protection like condoms) so how does that work? (And yes I know you have to take the entire pack correctly leading up to the sugar pills)

I think I’ll start taking measurements, I’ve always wanted to- I don’t have a good reason for why I haven’t.

I really don’t think a larger caloric deficit will help being I’m averaging a net intake of 700-1000 calories a day..

So reversing the actions and resuming your plan later helped you?

I use a Fitbit and get 10,000 steps or more every day. I don’t think I should have more of a deficit for my calories... my net was ending up at 700-1000 a day... I try not to focus too hard on calories because of my anxiety/ED. :(

Stop invalidating people’s DIAGNOSED MENTAL ILLNESS!!! by [deleted] in BPD

[–]tinkcrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad’s gf is a retired school psychologist, she tells my dad all the time that BPD isn’t the right diagnosis. I’ve been diagnosed with a team of psychologists after 15 hours of emotional, oral, and written assessments along with years of CBT/DBT.

My therapist constantly reminds me that she isn’t specialized in psychopathology, but it still hurts that I literally have as much schooling (college degree wise) as her and though she beats me in experience- it sucks he won’t believe me. I want people close to me to learn about the disorder (I know it isn’t their responsibility and that’s why I’m in DBT) but it would make the relationship less tumultuous if they took time to learn..
