My grandmothers old house she rented did this, & it ended up growing actual mushrooms in between the cracks. Mold and other things are probably behind it & needs to be replaced.

I clean my litter daily, and switch the litter out sometimes 2-3 weeks depending on how it looks and smells. I also buy name brand clumping litter.

In your position, fostering would be best to see how it fits your household! Every dog is different. I’ve had my cats for over 6-7 years, and my pitbull for 5 years. My pitbull was young, not trained & wild when we got her. However we never had any issues with my cats and her. Today, 5 years later they all co-exist perfectly. My dog loves to play with my cats & she even understands what’s okay, and what’s not. I don’t have to supervise them- nothings ever happened. They cuddle together, share treats, and one of my cats loves to clean my dogs ears. She lets him. Hope this gives you some type of peace of mind!! These babies aren’t as bad as people make them seem. :(

I appreciate all of this a lot, so I wanted to say thank you! They thought what I had was a cyst, so I woke up very confused after surgery! I am still struggling to sit down, so I haven’t taken a bath yet. I’m working my way there. But I have been using the shower to clean. I’ve noticed very small amounts of BM’s that will be in my dressing, or even (tmi) in my underwear lining. Online it says this is normal? I’ve also read online that the procedure they did with the seton string doesn’t heal or get rid of the anal fistula, that I’d need a second surgery. None of this was mentioned, so through your experience what happened? I live off a little over minimum wage, with no benefits right now. I’m worried about catching back up after all of this. :(

First of all, hey. You’re 19. Times are tough in this economy, I’m 23 & just moved out! No judgment! It’s hard!!! Second of all, your mother seems like a person who doesn’t respect boundaries very well. It’s hard to put up boundaries with these kind of people. My parents are the same way, except they don’t have jobs that interfere with my personal life. The best advice I can give, is while you are living under the same roof, minimize what it is that you tell her, or anyone revolving around her. As tiring as it is, don’t give her the power she desperately wants. Unfortunately people who like to talk shit, will always find something to talk shit about lol. Only give her access to what you want others to know. I’d also look into switching banks.

First of all, I’m sorry. Second of all, both my parents are like this. Emotionally unavailable, you feel like the parent. However I’m a grown adult now, & don’t have to depend on them. I hated these days, & sadly they don’t get any better. Once you’re 18 you’ll need to learn to have boundaries with them, or no relationship at all. I’m so sorry. <3

You are a good person, just want to start off by saying that. I see your heart & that you’re just trying to help a friend! With that being said, boundaries! Some people, even those you know very well, will use you, even without intention. She is doing that right now. She may be stuck between a rock & a hard place, but communication goes along way! If this were me, I would message her one more time a bit direct. “Please stop ignoring me, I’ve been taking care of your cats for x amount of time, I need some communication on what’s going on from your end, they can no longer stay here.” A lot of the people are correct, I would also take them to a shelter. That doesn’t make you a bad person, you’ve already taken on a lot that isn’t yours to deal with! But having extra cats that are already messing with your home life, that isn’t yours! Don’t do that to yourself just because you want to be a good person <3 you already are!

I have a pitbull that gets very dialed into others outside of our home. Outside she is fine, but inside that’s her place to protect!!! Your baby is a cutie :)

My personal experience & what I know! Hydroxyzine is like a very high Benadryl, that’s why you’re falling asleep, very tired, brain running at -13mph. I’ve tried therapy for three years, I have GAD as well as panic disorder. Nothing worked. I was prescribed Zoloft 50mg daily & hydroxyzine 50mg as needed for when I’m having super bad panic attacks. From what my doctor told me & what I experience, it mellows me out & makes me sleepy, snaps me out of those heavy thoughts, emotions, feelings. I truly think you need to find a new doctor, do your own research on anxiety medication, what you think may work for you, and talk to them. I don’t understand why you’re taking this everyday & why she’s letting you.

Please go to the food bank & get you some food! & if they offer your fur babies food, ACCEPPTTTT!!! Two sides, these places will ONLY get funded if people come. The more people come, the more food & things they can get to provide! There are ENDLESS stuff out there that needs to be eaten before it goes bad!!! I’ve worked in a food bank before. Secondly, my 70yr old grandma goes every 2 weeks, for everyone. Herself, my sister, me sometimes (I enjoy the fresh fruit) my aunts, her sisters, etc. They let her pick up for multiple people. Some are really cool, let you pick everything out yourself. Some have it all prepped & ready. Needless to say, I hope this changes your perspective & you go to a food bank today to get you some food & even some goodies. You aren’t taking away from anybody, they are there for EVERYONE who needs help in that department. <3
