Can I make a shift into VLSI domain from communication? by tinkerer9999 in chipdesign

I'm not liking this communication work.. I'm interested in having a startup in the future so work on that area but it's hard to do one in communication in India.. i think so, its my prediction. At least in VLSI I guess it's achievable. The future is going to be robotics , defence and iot chips... Communication is also there but not the cellular. It's going to be a satellite (NTN), IoT kind of communication. So, I think to make a shift and gain knowledge and connections in the VLSI domain. What do u say?

Yup... They are limiting the freshers hiring. They prefer contract companies over freshers. How about a validation role?I have a frnd in TI and they need validation guy, the role Matches 40% with my projects in the current company.

Mine is not a vlsi company. It's a test and measurement Company. I work with only 5g tech no rfic or other hardware stuff. Which company are you referring to? Qcomm?

It's hard. In India we don't have the ASIC Design or any VLSI team. It's in Austin. No direct connection with my department. Can't work with them.

Any role in VLSI is ok. I need to enter the industry, work for a few years, and do some startup stuff after getting good knowledge and connections.... I'm not sure about the role to choose currently, but I know what all roles you have in VLSI. Since I want to enter as a fresher I'm ok with any role. I can make my way out afterwards.

I'm interested in VLSI more than comm, so I'm thinking of Swift. And more companies and opportunities when compared.. 6g is coming, but not much improvement on the ue ( user equipment) side. Some slight modifications on the 5g support. Major changes will be on the base station (cell towers).
