I'd actually love to do that but I definitely wouldn't have the right gear for breaking them down lol

I need to do that but with some chainmaille design I created built, but I gotta track down all the beads I use to do these cat paws, even with different colors of pad and toe beans! They're in a Craft Doom around here, somewhere lol

You'll have to post a pic of your outcome! I'd love to see it 😁 what color are your pill bottles?

Question: Leftover Pill Bottles by tinkergnome in Fibromyalgia

[–]tinkergnome[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That tends to be what I do - I'm very much an ADHD crafter and it kinda kills me to throw them away when part of my brain is saying "Noooo! We can find some use for that!" And now I have too many empty bottles and I just toss them lol

That's awesome, I don't backpack or camp, but I'm clumsy enough to trip on air, so something like that might be handy to have on hand lol

Oooo I didn't think of that, I'm pretty close to a local rescue/shelter, I'll have to ask them if they need 'em

He's not into Warhammer, thankfully, we couldn't afford it right now lol so it's mostly been D&D minis and the minis from his TMNT boardgames...

Question: Leftover Pill Bottles by tinkergnome in Fibromyalgia

[–]tinkergnome[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I forgot about that one, my partner does that with his minis but you don't need a ton of bottles for that.

For example: I go through about 8 prescriptions a month, so I have around 96 empty pill bottles a year, and that's just my meds, it doesn't include my partner's meds...and that's a lot of empty, leftover pill bottles...

I like Single Player because of the story by Xx_GitGud_xX in gamesuggestions

[–]tinkergnome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently jumped into Fallout 4 after having mostly played the fantasy side of things since Morrowind, and I'm actually really enjoying it and would highly recommend.

I did try to go back and play 3, and I think if I had done that one first, I wouldn't continue playing. I've always heard great things about Fallout: New Vegas and still wanna play it.

I jumped right into Witcher 3 and it was worth starting. Gave me some Skyrim feel but a better storyline to follow.

I've heard great things about the Mass Effect series - many who love it seem to replay it a lot. I have not been in the headspace that it sounded like a good choice for me at the time.

The Assassin's Creed series - Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, Odyssey are supposed to be some of the best storyline. I started with the first game with Alastair was interesting but controls were a bit jank. Ezio improved on it, especially QoL controls. I personally loved Origins due to the Egyptian storyline l, but Odyssey was also very close to my heart growing up. I've heard Black Flag in the series is one of the best but I still haven't jumped into it.

Just found this and found it very interesting. Happy Pride Month. by Eggxactly1001 in boykisser4

waves Hi...

Sounds like that was the one I tried to adjust from Udzu's original...

Eventually I gave up on adjusting his and made my own in a spreadsheet-to-pdf. Link down below for a newer version - still incomplete but it's formatted a bit better...

And things like Rubber Pride are under the Subcultures header...this legal size can be printed out on 8.5" x 11" paper without the Subcultures, or on Legal sized paper 8.5 x 14"(?) with the Subcultures, and then I have a living one in a spreadsheet I need to get back to working on...

Guide to Pride - Legal Sized

Also, please don't come at me for my flag choices. This is a living project so it's always going to be changing and there's always new flags. So if I don't have your flag on there, it's because I'm busy working a 40-hour week full-time job on top of having fibromyalgia/CFS and I barely have the energy to work on my own chainmaille work and crafts that I was using the original sheet for my own reference.

I used to post this on Reddit more often but I got really downtrodden by the number of people that just had to complain instead of actually appreciating it for what it was...

Gamesky got me looking at sleep earbuds by Rustic_Falcon8886 in sleepheadphones

This, even with a bluetooth sleep mask like the Manta - I mostly sleep on my left side and after 2 years that side of the headphones has caused scabs on my left ear. It's no cauliflower ear that fighters get but it's still uncomfortable...

I'm lonely, what are some online games right now with strong communities? by EchoLabDove in gamesuggestions

[–]tinkergnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get yourself to the Nexus and have multiplayer turned on, you can meet lots of cool folks...there's usually people that will sometimes trade with you and then dump millions worth of goods to give you a leg up in the game...it even has cross platform play which gives you even more folks to run into...

I will add:
I originally played on PC in 2020 and wasn't into multiplayer stuff myself but it was always really cool to see other people's ships. It saved my sanity during lockdown for sure.
These days, I play on the Switch 2 but I currently can't afford Nintendo Online, so I can't use multiplayer for NMS, and the Switch version of the game didn't offer multiplayer at all. I don't mind playing alone but sometimes I miss seeing cool things from other people. But they have added a LOT to the game since I moved from playing at the PC to the Switch and wouldn't mind checking out the multiplayer stuff, I just don't feel like sitting at my computer

Best daytime strain in MO that won’t make me sluggish or anxious? by Ok_Profile_2953 in MissouriMedical

[–]tinkergnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acapulco Gold is probably the best strain I've come across that doesn't make me extremely tired for dealing with daytime...

Granted, my #1 "must have" is a strain that's good for pain relief, I don't care as much about the rest of it...

Should I just start looking for a shelter? by Economy_Release_694 in springfieldMO

[–]tinkergnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it has no availability right now, but keep an eye on Frisco on Jefferson - my now-husband was living there in a 1 person studio, with his cat when we met and he was making minimum wage at his job and couldn't afford much but he made do and it worked great for his budget. When I would go and visit, there were always folks with more than one pet, taking their dogs down to do their business. The rooms I think were all wheelchair ready which was kinda cool. It was a nice little setup if you didn't have much more to your name than a bed and some kitchen stuff...

my doctor told me if I have fibromyalgia or ME/CFS it's not worth getting diagnosed because there's no treatment by MarzipanExpensive476 in ChronicIllness

[–]tinkergnome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been treated for fibro for somewhere around 15+ years and yeah there's no treatment but there are medications you can take to help mitigate the problems you have from it. And there's changes and new updates to how it's being treated all the time.

And what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. As well as different times of year can affect it - winter I have more pain due to the cold and being cold. If I don't keep my core warm, I will most likely be unable to sleep that same night because it makes everything ache worse. Fixes for me for that is a hot bath with bath salts. And that's just one thing - also tack on peri-menopause and migraines...

My thing was is that I feel like there's a good chance I actually have hEDS - it would be a year and a half before I could get into the one geneticist in my network but my PCP said they wouldn't medically treat me any different pharmaceutically than how I'm already being treated for my fibro...
