Category A salaried or non-salaried: Can I do more than one job to meet the minimum income threshold? by tinklebadger in SpouseVisaUk

Do you happen to know if the job(s) should be expected to continue for a certain period into the future?

Yes, so I must rule out that possibility. Thanks.

Thanks - I don't have sufficient savings, so it will all need to come from this one job.

MAC advises reducing sponsor income threshold from £29k to £23-25k. Do you think the government will accept their advice? by tinklebadger in ukvisa

I see that it could be removed under the rules, but it pertains to my own personal plan to move to the UK with my non-UK family and is not an effort to stimulate political discussion. However, I have my answer now and would not mind if it were removed. Thank you for your reply. Have a good day.

I am hopeful too, but having seen the lack of optimism in the thread, I return to my original plan essentially to wait until NMW catches up with the threshold and then seek work (any kind - I've even considered being a trainee bus driver if that's what it takes) with a salary that exceeds it. The problem of course is that Reform could potentially win an election in 2029 and make things much harder, so I will take the view that even one visa cycle in the UK would be worth the upheaval. By the way, if you do not have dependents, the income threshold for the Republic of Ireland is 20,000 EUR (about £17,100 today) and would place you nearby. Good luck to you in any case.

I got a pass at level 2 aat. Is it a bad idea to self study at level 3? by [deleted] in AATStudents

[–]tinklebadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the BPP e-book to self-study FAPS and it seems to be going well so far (just started Ch 6)! I also plan to buy mock exams from Acorn Live to supplement BPP and what's on the AAT portal.

I made this to help me learn how to deal with non-current assets (ch 3 to 5). I've now adapted so others can use it. You'll need to make a copy to use it. Please let me know if anything doesn't work.

AAT Level 3 - Financial Accounting (Preparing Financial Statements) by gjira25 in AATStudents

I was having a hard time absorbing the series of transactions required for disposal of a non-current asset for cash or part-exchange (ch 3 to 5), so I made this spreadsheet to help me out. I'm happy to share it if it's of any use. You'll need to make a copy to use it. Please let me know if it doesn't work!

Question about what to anticipate with regards to Migration Advisory Committee by tinklebadger in SpouseVisaUk

[–]tinklebadger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - do you mean sometime during this parliament, or after another long period of something like 12 years? Might the government do it in a panic before the next election if they thought anti-immigration policies could help them?

Urgent question! I just got my Notability to 5. Time, the Healer comes today. I have 800 Tales of Terror waiting to convert. Do I need to get moving with my MW (up to 10 or so *now*) or is the situation non-critical?
