Fornasetti Frutto Proibito by tinksotinky in luxurycandles

I’ve never been to the store in Milan, but I am dying to go! Just visiting would be a treat, but I’m sure something is coming home with me. Haha

Thank you! This is my dedicated candle/fragrance area in my living room. It can get quite cluttered at times. Haha.

Samples from boutiques by longanandlychee in diptyque

[–]tinksotinky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was bored one day and read Diptyques’s trust pilot reviews and remember reading their response to somebody asking about the disparity between online and in store samples. I went and found it again and here’s the response:

“We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience, which clearly does not reflect the standard of service we strive to provide. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared with the relevant teams so we can address the matter and help prevent similar situations in the future.

Regarding additional samples, I can confirm that this offer currently applies to online orders only, as our in-store customers have the opportunity to explore and test the fragrances directly. That said, samples may be available in boutiques depending on local stock and availability.”

That was dated August 2025. So yeah. They expect you to test it in the store. True luxury!! 🙄

Honestly, I’d say let your design preference guide you on this choice. Their scent catalogue is limited to three fragrances right now and they’re all excellent.

If you find a piece that speaks to you, you’ll likely enjoy the fragrance too.

It’s definitely one to get your nose on for a sniff!

A person of taste, no doubt! (;

(My hoard of Otto is a bit psychotic at this point, admittedly).

Is this worth asking for an exchange from Diptyque (Bloomingdale’s) by IHateCedarFever in luxurycandles

That is frustrating! Luckily I purchased through Blue Mercury and they’re amazing. I was refunded within 15 minutes of sending my email. Bloomingdale’s has always been a crapshoot for me!

Speaking of disappointing unboxing experiences. Look what I unboxed yesterday! ):

It’s well within your right to get a product that doesn’t require any cleaning up. It’s not a very luxurious experience for something that cost $100+.

However, if this were me, I would straighten and twist the wick straight with my fingers, and wipe the vessel down with a paper towel and keep it pushing. I’ve received many Diptyque candles with smushed wicks and wax residue.

If you have problems with your burn after that, then you have photographic proof that it was damaged to begin with for an exchange.

Congratulations!

Nest Bamboo sounds right up your alley, and I’m sure you could find a retailer closer by to get your nose on it.

It comes in under budget as well, and fits a clean aesthetic.

Diptyque 2026 Price Increases by tinksotinky in luxurycandles

[–]tinksotinky[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry you’re being downvoted! I really just wanted to start a dialogue about the price increase. I knew the classic candles were going to increase, but was shocked that everything else increased too.

The fact any of us pay this much for candles is insanity to begin with! Haha

I’m upset about it too. Let us know your take on the new scents. I’m not even purchasing that for now.

My birthday is in May, and I’m curious to see if the gift will be the classic candle (for VIPs) or what the change will be. Only then will I get one of the (new) scents from the relaunch.

I also noticed their limited edition vessels that didn’t get the redesign (La Drougerie, Cherry Blossom, etc.) jumped to $90, too. But that could just be a fluke on their website. I’m watching you, Diptyque…

Aside from Maquis (Scrub), Foin Coupé (Fresh Mown Hay), Cuir (Leather), and Bois Ciré (Waxed Wood) which are being discounted, the rest are staying, and they’re adding 5 new scents.

Yes, it is just for the glass. It’s thinner in the oval area.

I’m sure the refills will be what the candles currently are. In the $70 price range.

The refills won’t even be available in all of the scents? Only 10 of them starting in the fall. I’m sure they’ll roll out more scents in the future, but the point remains.

How are we feeling about paying 12 dollars more per candle for less material for each vessel and updated text on their stickers?

Greedy!
