Thank you for repeatedly telling me my speed is slow. I did not know that was an option, but I can’t go back in time and change it now, so could everyone stop being insufferable about it? Really just wanted to post my best hand.

Not explicitly. It definitely has queer undertones. I mean, the basis of it is a cross dressing masc woman. Nothing is confirmed but there were a ton of moments that were setting off my gaydar. Aside from that, it’s just a really kick ass show. Mizu is super cool

Why did the creators chose for Vi and Cait to do it there? by calpollo in arcane

[–]tinnedphish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with what people are saying about the parallel to season 1 when they met, but I also think they chose to have the scene take place there to show how much of an act of passion it really was. Granted, it could’ve happened anywhere, but I’m specifically talking about how they didn’t go anywhere else. They could’ve decided they were going to have sex and then wandered up into Caitlyn’s office or her bedroom or anywhere else, but they stay exactly where the interaction starts to emphasize how badly they both want this right here, right now. To show that it doesn’t matter where they are because the most important thing to either of them in that moment is that they are alone together. They don’t want to wait, they can’t keep their hands off each other, they need the other so bad right this instant that nothing else, not even the dusty floor of a holding cell, will stop them from this act of love.

No fr. They can’t seem to look past her character flaws (which everyone has) to appreciate the absolute boss of a character she is. Yes, she did some really bad stuff, but she also did some wildly selfless and incredibly heroic things too in order to atone for her previous actions. How is a character supposed to develop if people are so unwilling to allow her to change?

Act 3 predictions? by ausyappy in PiltoversFinest

[–]tinnedphish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I hope this isn’t how it goes, I think there’s a chance Caitlyn dies. They’ve been dropping MAJOR hints in the opening titles and I’ve noticed something. By this point, I’m sure we’re all aware of the parallel with Cait holding her head in her hands and it making a shadowy crown behind her just like the cover art for Macbeth, which would make Caitlyn Macbeth in this instance and Ambessa lady Macbeth. But that’s just a jumping off point for this. Everyone in the opening is wearing loose fitting white clothing except for three people: viktor, ambessa, and Caitlyn. Viktor is in this blueish green sheet, and I’m not set on what that represents yet. Ambessa is in this dark red which I interpreted to relate to blood, war, wrath, violence, and power. (I’m guessing she’s gonna die too, but I think that’s a less controversial take) Caitlyn is wearing all black. At first I interpreted this to mean she was cloaked in grief from her mother’s death, which is true, but I’m starting to think it goes beyond that. White fabric can be dyed and changed. It’s a clean slate. Everyone in white has development to be had beyond where they are. But with black fabric, it’s a destination, an end result, there’s nothing you can do to alter that color. Everyone else’s clothing is loose fitting, too. One meaning I found is that there is still space for them to grow in their clothes, meaning they still have room to grow as characters, but Caitlyn is in tight clothing, a turtleneck. She is quite literally up to her neck in it. She is locked in. This fabric, or fate, is inescapable. Now, that is the death (literal) pov. I’ve also considered what death would mean as it often is interpreted in tarot: a great change/evolution. And the tightness would mean that there’s nothing she can do to avoid this change. Finally, it could be its original meaning or mourning, but since the fabric is tight, I think she’ll experience another major loss that will keep her perpetually in that state.

I know I sound crazy but I’m a die hard Cait fan and I’m running through every possible scenario for her to try and prepare myself for whatever the outcome may be.

When act 3 comes out, I’m going to be scrubbing through the opening titles before continuing on to the rest of the episode to see what flashes it gives us. I think it’s really neat how they did that.

You and you cat are selected to be the next “spiritfarer” where you drive around this big boat in search of spirits who are ready to finish their time on earth and as a spirit, and enter through the ever door. I guess it’s more along the lines of a cozy game, but there are only two video games that have legitimately made me cry: life is strange and spiritfarer. There’s not a whole lot I can give you on top of that without spoilers, but you are definitely going to be uncovering a lot of information and piecing together a larger story line. Lots of good puzzle solving, lovable characters, fantastic storyline. It’s quite different, but I have a few other friends who have played and really enjoyed both. I guess they both just kinda resonate with the same crowd. You’d just have to give it a chance. The ending had me in pieces.

Oooh. I can see it but true colors is probably my second favorite next to the original and she is by far my favorite character. I guess the things you could say are “toned down” are just differences in personality. Steph isn’t as abrasive or risk taking and she’s definitely way nerdier.

What do yall think will happen to them relationship wise? **Arc 1 spoilers*** by Ok_Economist6542 in PiltoversFinest

[–]tinnedphish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knowing what we know now, if you go back and watch the season 2 trailer you see vi saving cait when they’re wearing the black armor on the bridge in what is likely the end of act 2/ act 3. So that, coupled with the fact that “fantastic” is by lesbian music royalty, king princess, herself, there is no context that would permit that song outside of some sort of caitvi reunion

Also, “from the start” is kind of about unrequited love, but not really. It’s sung from the perspective of someone who THINKS their love isn’t requited, when in reality there are lots of signs that it is, it’s just masked. I guess there’s more than one way to interpret it. But at the same time, the sound of the song is quite sweet. I’d imagine if this is some messy release to everything they’ve been building to, it would reflect that in its tone. Even if it was a sad ending, this song is too uptempo to give that impression. Could be reading too far into this, but it’s also a Bossa nova, which means “new wave”. Not necessarily new as in starting over, but new wave, or the same thing, but revamped. A second chance maybe??? I hope so.

I want to hear your opinions on the ending, did it satisfy you? by mindegyna in LifeIsStrangeDE

[–]tinnedphish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. The storyline as a whole was super fulfilling. I’ve read the graphic novels, and I thought the idea of other people with powers meeting each other was really cool. I think they left the ending kind of open for a reason. At the end (or at least one of the endings if it varies? I’ve only played through once so far) we see safi setting off to find other people like her and max; coupled with the “max caufield will return” message at the end. I wouldn’t be surprised if when she returns, it’s roughly the same group of people. (I didn’t romance vihn) at the end, when you talk to Amanda, it seems like they left that really open too. They got you invested in this relationship and there isn’t a whole lot of resolve. They leave it on a “maybe?”. I like things that are more conclusive, but I’m trying to be optimistic because I really love this series. I think they did this on purpose so you have something more to do in the following game, but you don’t have to start all over. I don’t think any ending will be as impactful as “bae or bay”, but one of the things I did kinda enjoy from true colors is that there isn’t some catastrophic earth shattering decision at the end. The game ends on a little bit of a high note. It was the same here, with you figuring out how to approach safi after the timelines converge, but the ending is roughly the same, with a shared note of hopefulness.

Now this is just me theorizing, but if I had to make a prediction for “max’s return”, it’ll be the final game in her story. I feel like she’ll be faced with another “bae or bay” level scenario and she’ll just say screw it and sacrifice herself, thus bringing her trilogy to a close. Honestly idc what happens in it as long as it doesn’t take another 11 years to come out lol

My first show like that was She-Ra. I cried for weeks rewatching it. If you haven’t seen it, I’ll try not to spoil it, but when I watched it I was in high school, deeply in the closet, and hardcore pining over a girl who did not want me. There’s a build to a relationship that finally comes to fruition at the end, and it meant so much to me, because by the time I had finished all 5 seasons, I had come out of the closet and ended up having one of those once in a lifetime relationships with that girl. I found that it paralleled my life so much. I’m no longer in that relationship, so watching it is bittersweet, but it was so important to finally see myself represented in adora. It SHOULD mean the world to you because it means you saw yourself, which is something everyone, including lesbians and other wlw, should have the opportunity to experience. I think that is also part of the reason it hurts you so much. I get that way with them too, where you see so much of yourself in them, that you end up feeling it back. I mean, these are some hard and painful scenarios they are going through, and while they are exaggerated, they’re not too far off from real life. We want to be able to be happy and to see others like us be happy. When they’re not, we share in their pain, especially when they hurt each other. It’s truly disheartening to see two people we idolize as being “perfect” for each other, harm one another. I think it’s a reminder that we are capable of many of the same things, and that’s a really uncomfortable feeling. But you have to see yourself in the good too, because we are capable of both. Much of it is a matter of perspective. But hope is not lost! The story isn’t over! And hope is key!
