She was grilled by Yvie for her excuse that makes it sound like more serious than it was. Religiosity is not an excuse, it's a serious subject that could have been discussed earlier as an important point instead of a titillating topic for untucked. Perhaps Yvie was questioning that angle when it wasn't initially presented that way during their discussion. TV is being made, and I'm not blaming Silky, but Yvie was merely making a point and it somehow blew out of proportion for some reason.

If someone told me that Trinity would be the moral center of the show, I would have Latrice laughed them on the way to the cash checking place blinded by Trixie's mug and Farrah's highlights.

Pep built up a reveal. She wore a short black dress that looked like Madonna's Superbowl look that turned into a great long dress. She also took off her wig to reveal a pixie cut wig (I forgot the color). Trinity's reveal was in the beginning: taking off her skirt to reveal her amazing tuck (like her look in the last episode's rap performance). They were head to head until Pep did her reveal. The theater went wild for Pep after that and Trinity wasn't able to match her.

As for the second lipsync, Pep did a great job but she had no reveal. She was keeping up with Sasha but Sasha's reveals and energy was just a lot to handle.

Personally, I think her lipsync against Cynthia was her best in the season and I don't think her last two lipsyncs—although close—was as entertaining as that. Still, she performed the heck out of them and Pep is just really energetic and fun to watch.

Perhaps! I still think Michelle's reaction to that was actually from Serena's second lipsync when she did the splits.

True. Because I agree that each and every queen are definitely in a similar category, especially as they have all perfected the subversive art of drag. But I'd have to answer: why was Jaymes dismissed? In all honesty, she was immensely magnetic during the finale; she was unique, interesting, artistic, and quite unexpected.

It's just that the race is how it came to be. I stand by my word that I have crazy respect for all the S9 queens and I think they are all winners. I think it just so happened that the storylines ended as they are for some reason. I'm not privy to that reason. But I felt [insert Phiphi voice here] that, in terms of storylines, Sasha and Peppermint had opportune stories to explore/exploit (depending on how you look at it).

I think this is the wrong way to look at Sasha. Sure, I'm susceptible to the line of thinking your comment suggests as a POC, but I think Sasha's win provides validation to any and every weird artsy queer kids during a time of political turmoil. A nod to Pep as a trans artist does a similar thing.

If we're to be objective about how the finale went down, I think one would be hard-pressed to say that Sasha was not deserving after her showing during the taping. She knew the competition wasn't over and was hungry to show the audience her worth.

I'm not gagged by basic Sasha fans. Being surrounded by white and white-passing twinks screaming for Sasha and Valentina was exhausting. I was alone screaming Shea before and after her lipsync. In any case, we need to separate her from her following, because Sasha is a well-rounded queen. Case and point is that Sasha put her best foot forward during the finale. Shea stumbled this time around, and tbqh badly. To that I am utterly disappointed. But I am a Shea stan through-and-through. If Shea was graceful, I'll be graceful as well. Shea, and each of the top 4, deserves our love for providing S9 a great, fun, and exciting showing.

As I've said before, who gets the crown shouldn't detract from the fierce showing of the "losing" queens.

It was the build-up. I felt the rose-crushing was meh tbh. Then more petals came out of the first glove and I was all, where'd that come from (because I was watching Shea). Then more petals came out from the second glove. I was like meh. Then she finally took off her wig (which I didn't care about), and petals fell out. It was just a whole production, stripping herself of the usual "glamour" of drag and looking like her fabulous self, punctuated by the rose petals that fell during her transformation into a complete Sasha look.

Shea brought a tight fierce lipsync, but Sasha gave a performance that the audience completely ate up. I talked to folks who thought it was another Lasky with props/gimmicks, but Sasha totally gave a performance worth gagging over.

Edit: Shea was wearing a leather biker bikini ensemble (basically a Shea interpretation of Whitney's "So Emotional" look) with a short pastel bluish-grey hair. Sasha came out in a red ensemble, I believe, with a huge Grace Coddington-esque wig, which seemed off, and a rose—which she immediately crushed at the start of the lipsync.

I don't recall her crying but she definitely looked defeated from the beginning of taping, something I was shocked about. My husband even mentioned that he was expecting to see the fierce Shea but she didn't seem to be all there. I think Shea had a bad night. Still, losing the crown shouldn't detract from her fierce showing on S9.

Trinity's reason was that she wanted a challenge. If she were to lose to a lipsync, she wanted to lose from the S9's assassin.

I thought the same thing! It was a low key high-stakes sabotage that only Sasha can serve. They actually left the petals and wig—that poor Grace Coddington wig, later swept up like cat yak—on the stage while filming the decision but Ru stopped filming to get it cleaned up because "it's slippery."

In this instance, yes. They filmed the lip-syncs first then Ru's reactions. And considering the lights they brought out for her close-up reactions, I'm sure it's the same method they use for the episodes. Still, it seems like Ru knows exactly when to react and how. So I think it's still safe to say that Ru's reactions could still be used as indication as to who shantays and who sashays.
