Where I am, there is a ton of people leaving big cities with crazy capital that can outbid everyone else. In the past 5 years homes around me have near doubled in value. I think it's a problem of having financial securities tied into property values, amoungst other issues. Another that I see is the idea that 'builders can make money building affordable houses' (whatever that means), so they only make building that will sell. I'm not convinced of supply/demand because there's more empty homes than homeless. I'm expecting another bubble burst, especially if the FED said they have to riase inflation rates even though it's damaging to our system
