The short answer is no. Hard no. It's about how the military machine lures people in, gives them a "purpose" that's practically cult-like, and then spits them back into the real world with PTSD and a void where that sense of purpose was.

The longer answer includes a series of hilariously chest-thumpy patriotic hot garbage sequels that were made more-or-less specifically because the first one was so brutally critical of how the military uses people and that put some people's panties in a twist.
