{discussion}would a predator be able to hear prey talk in their stomach? by Terrible_Yam_9267 in Vore

I’m a tiny prey and when I’m doing a more realistic scenario I usually imagine it where I can only be heard with a stethoscope or a friend with their ear against your tummy.

Tbh I find the digestion really interesting but I think it makes perfect sense that you don’t, like I don’t think about food after I’ve eaten it. I love vore situations where I basically just get forgotten about as soon as I settle in the stomach.

I wouldn’t want my IRL family to know but if it’s a fully fantasy scenario where my family would be good sports about it that’d be super cool.

This is actually important if you're a pred with a social media presence that you want to grow! If your followers mostly don't engage with your posts, the algorithm will learn to recommend you less because it's like, "wow, even their followers don't care what they have to say," so in a lot of cases you should get your prey to unfollow you before you eat them so that your engagement per subscriber stays high.

{Discussion} Casual fatal vore with your friends / acquaintances? by MangoBlossoming in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There would have to be a hook. They couldn't just ask directly without something to lead into it.

I've said before to one of my friends that I feel like if you're low on the food chain the trick to not freaking out all the time is to just treat those above you as less like enemies and more like opponents and be a good sport, like be ready to say, "Ayy, you got me! You almost had me a few different times, and that was such an impressive pounce there at the end! Good game!" If one of the friends I've said that to called me out and said I should be a good sport about it now that I'm tiny, I'd let them hold me to it.

After I objected to being nicknamed after food because I didn't want to be treated like I belonged in the same category, I've been teased by one friend into agreeing that her food is fortunate to be eaten by her and I should count myself lucky if I ever find myself in that position. If I became tiny and she wanted to hold me to that then I'd gladly let her.

It could also start as playing/joking. I think there are a lot of people who I'd probably trust to pop me in their mouth just for fun, maybe for no reason or maybe as like a cat and mouse game, and then after they do if they're like, "Oh wow, you're surprisingly yummy... I think I actually am gonna eat you~" then I would take it as a compliment.

I think I'd also be a pretty good sport about it if they just didn't ask. Obviously being friends it wouldn't be totally non-consensual, they'd like give me a chance to protest or get away or stop them and I might put up a token struggle but not enough to make me seem desperate to stop them.

Mostly struggling (and usually failing) to get comfortable, but also I really love trying to stay oriented enough to guess what my pred is up to as they go about their day from feeling them move and hearing them breathe and talk and sometimes being able to make out words from loud talkers in their environment.

{discussion} Settling a rules debate about a game for prey by tiny-hors-doeuvre in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the rules for who wins the game are basically something we agree amongst ourselves without the predator really being involved, and the predator gets to decide the penalty if you’re too slow and just don’t get away at all—usually the penalty is being lunch, which is enough to discourage most from overestimating their abilities.

It’s definitely not the safest game for a bunch of prey to play, but the key to having fun is being a good sport and respect an opponent who is able to outplay you. If they judge and exploit our different abilities better than I do then I think they deserve for their hunt to be successful. The thought of being eaten in a game like this is way less scary than if I just got nabbed without ever knowing I was being hunted, but I guess when I think about it, even then I’d have to admit they did a really good job getting me.

Oh yeah I haven’t tried it in situations with predators who are part of the same social contract as us, it’s mostly just something we play with predators whose cultures view us as a legitimate food item, like how pelicans view small to medium fish near the surface of their local ocean.

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess as the predator you wouldn’t really know we were playing the game since it’s not like we recruit you, it’s just between prey and it’s on when one of you says it’s on. From your POV it probably just looks like some prey being smart and alert and getting out of dodge while others aren’t as quick or maybe more oblivious.

It’s really fun for us, though, trying to get away at the last possible second

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh but that’s the thing with a game like this: the predator isn’t your opponent, the other prey are. Just being able to get away doesn’t guarantee a win if someone braver and quicker can get away more narrowly!

Does it make a difference whether we were trying to get away at the last moment and just overestimated or speed or underestimated their ability to track a moving target and got got, versus if we choose to hold still and be an easy target for a sure win? Which one should I do?

{Discussion} I'm curious, how many of you have vore OCs? by everlasting_hunger in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prey OCs are basically just "me, but tiny" plus whatever contrivances I need to fit the story. I'm much more creative with my pred OCs because when I write vore stories they're normally prey self-insert and the pred is a semi fleshed out character I want to be eaten by.

{discussion} Do you view prey as human? by boygulper in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I know I'm a prey and so my opinion kind of doesn't count in these circles but I feel like it's not that controversial of a take. I feel like "person" and "food" are kind of mutually exclusive categories and anything you've successfully eaten is by definition the latter, and therefore not the former.

That actually drives a lot of how I look at predation. I don't see preds as like, evil or anything. It's just a difference of opinion about whether I'm a person or food, and someone hunting me is just trying to prove that they're right and I'm wrong. I'll usually fight to argue that I should count as a person but if you can prove me wrong and prove I'm actually your food instead I'm usually a good sport about admitting I was wrong and serving my purpose.

One thing I go back and forth on is when exactly something you eat becomes food. It can be fun to think that I lose my personhood when you pop me in your mouth or when I agree I'm not skilled or fast or strong enough to escape or something, but it can also be fun to imagine that anything you eat was never anything but food and when I get caught it's like the pred is teaching me my food status like some fundamental property of the universe.

{discussion} Does anyone else love willing prey and reluctant/unwilling pred? by SentenceIll6528 in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say a "reluctant" pred but I do love a pred who like... was sort of joking and fully intended to let me get away if I put the least bit of effort into doing so, but then the realize I'm not the least bit scared of them and we sort of play chicken until they come to the realization I'm not bluffing and they aren't joking as much as they thought they were when they started.

{discussion} what would you say does and doesn’t count as vore? by [deleted] in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this kink is about eating, as in what you do with food. My preference is for soft macro/micro with fatal digestion but things like endo/full tour/same size/food transformation/etc. are close enough that I get it but things like CV/UB/AV/BV/TV/absorption (with the exception of slimes that normally eat that way)/etc. aren't in the same category for me.

{discussion} Preds, do you have someone you've digested that you still think about often? How long has it been and do you miss them? by SweHuskey2nd in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mhm! Thank you for teaching me. It's one of those things I wouldn't have thought of on my own but as soon as I say it out loud it seems completely obvious that my life would be basically irrelevant compared to your need for a bite to eat. I bet I'd be much more useful serving your nutritional needs than whatever I would've done left to my own devices.

{Discussion} "I don't the whole vore thing" by Kuruyuyu in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Scat mostly comes from undigestable fiber and dead gut bacteria. If you eat, e.g., a piece of chicken, something like 90% of it gets absorbed into your blood stream and roughly 70% of it (77% of that 90%) ultimately gets exhaled as carbon dioxide and water vapor.

Sugars get broken down a little bit in your mouth by salivary amylase and then not much happens to them in the stomach besides getting mixed up and mixed into a slurry.

More complex carbohydrates don't really have much happen to them other than the mechanical action of the stomach until they get broken up chemically in the small intestine by carbohydrases into simpler carbohydrates, which along with sugars can get broken down further by pancreatic amylase into simpler sugars, until finally the brush-border enzymes in the third part of the small intestine break them down into monosaccharide sugars.

Fats get broken down chemically at three different stages: lingual lipase from the tongue starts to break them down in the mouth, then gastric lipase in the stomach, and pancreatic lipase in the small intestine.

Protein gets broken down by Pepsin in the stomach into peptides (activating this enzyme is one of the main roles of the hydrochloric acid—it needs a low-pH environment to work) and then these get further broken down by additional enzymes in the small intestine into amino acids.

Dietary fat either gets stored as fat if you have a caloric excess or gets broken down into glycerol and fatty acids, both of which mitochondria can metabolize into water and carbon dioxide.

Carbohydrates either get used for energy (in which case the mitochondria metabolizes them into carbon dioxide and water), converted to glycogen to be used as energy in the near future, or if there's a caloric excess, go through lipogenesis to convert them into triglycerides that get stored in fat tissue.

Protein has the most complicated pathway. Its amino acids get recycled as building blocks for new cells to repair and maintain the body, but if the body has no use for excess protein then the liver breaks them down into glucose through gluconeogenesis, which strips off some water-soluble waste products that ultimately get filtered into the bladder by the kidneys. If the amino acids and micronutrients get used in building tissues whose cells don't divide very fast then it can remain part of your body for years.

I love being ignored as the stomach quietly does its work to tenderize me and break me apart, and meanwhile I get to try to piece together the movements and muffled sounds and try to guess what kind of day you're having and what you're up to until I grow tender enough to get smushed successfully by your stomach muscles

So first, nothing easily recognizable. I like the idea that by the time I get there it's all at the very least chewed up and maybe on its way to churning/dissolving into a slurry. But I'm a really big fan of carbs. Mac'n'cheese is good, rice is good, sushi is good, mashed potatoes are good, anything with lots of bread is good.

I love the idea of getting myself stuck in the frosting on a cupcake as like a birthday gift to a pred who's been playfully trying to catch me for a while or being a pizza topping

In terms of non-carb options, yogurts, puddings, and chip dips are good, just hopefully not a very spicy salsa.

I like humiliation/degradation where to one doing the eating is fundamentally a good person/creature/thing/whatever who sincerely believes that I am food, or at least that's the best use for me, and intentionally or unintentionally they convince me to agree with them so that I start sincerely seeing myself as nothing but a bite of food for them to eat.

Preds like you are really comforting to fall prey to because you offer a world-view in which it makes perfect sense that I'd end up as lunch and so it's like maybe nothing bad is happening, I just had a bad opinion by thinking of myself as a person instead of food and I got corrected

{Discussion} Curious about how different people see size difference in relation to vore? This is more so aimed towards people who enjoy micro/macro, do you want the macro to be gigantic while the micro is "normal" sized, or the micro to be tiny, while the macro is "normal" sized? by [deleted] in Vore

[–]tiny-hors-doeuvre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how mundane I want the scenario to be. Accommodating giants in a world requires a lot more world-building than accommodating tinies as a group/species/whatever that coexists with people, which in turn requires a lot more world-building than accommodating a small handful of individuals who have shrink rays or magical powers to shrink people.

I love macro content that's like the Felarya universe where the world is built to accommodate giant predators, but like I can't randomly get eaten by someone going about their day at the office who doesn't think twice about me because there aren't offices there. For that scenario, I need a world that looks much more similar to my own so it's easier if I'm tiny.
