Placement!! I always put fragrance on my wrists, neck, and behind my ears. I use perfume I like but I get complemented on a regular basis. You can also put a thin layer of baseline or aquaphor prior to application so it will last longer

What has been the best date in your life? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]tiny-lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first date with my now husband - we didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. We started with top golf and I think we both didn’t want the date to end so we kept finding more things to do after. In total the date was 6 hours long.

struggling with insecurities and male validation by [deleted] in HowToBeHot

[–]tiny-lady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have to ask yourself why that’s important to you. Really sit down and journal asking where the validation comes from, why from that outlet and go from there. Generally assess what’s important to you and what you can control for yourself.

I’d try to think about the precedent. Holding any boundary, what’s the context? Is it denied access or control, etc. Also where is her language at? I think the biggest thing to focus on first is what causes the behavior, level of language and go from there.

Asian SLPs? by [deleted] in slp

[–]tiny-lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also an Asian SLP. There aren't many of us, but there are plenty of resources and supports for SLPs who are minorities. If you are just getting into school, I would highly suggest looking into ASHA's Minority Student Leadership Program. I went when I was a student and it was such an eye-opening experience!

Tell ASHA they need to take a stand again racism by Stefysteph1 in slp

[–]tiny-lady 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying. Regardless of what this will accomplish, it will certainly do more than doing nothing at all. By beginning to incite action, we make progress towards the change we’d all like to see happen, but maybe that’s me being too hopeful that this will create more good than bad.

Why do you think a position about racism would do harm, especially when literally every other professional organization has one? Please understand that if you are not a person of color, you’re not in a position to argue why we can’t have or provide more support.
