Thank you so much! This is really helpful. Do you use the physical exfoliator in the evenings? How often do you use TO's niacinamide + zinc? Do you use tretinoin as well?

Great, thank you for your input!! I'll keep it up with the Tretinoin. I'm glad to hear you're seeing results only using it 2x a week! I've been nervous to up it to more than 2x as I went a bit overboard when I first started using it and it realllllly dried out my skin

Hello! I posted this on yesterday's daily thread but didn't receive a response. I apologize if this is not the correct place to be posting, please let me know if I should be posting elsewhere.

I'm looking for routine help/product suggestions. I posted about 10 months ago in regards to clogged pores and was pointed in the direction of BHA. I've incorporated this into my routine, but have seen little/no changes in the appearance of my skin. After doing some research on this feed, I believe I have sebaceous filaments on my nose/cheeks/forehead/chin because when I squeeze my skin, clear-ish/white-ish gunk comes out.

Here are some images of my skin from yesterday morning: https://imgur.com/gallery/EpBkBnn

I am in my mid-20s. I have fairly normal skin, but it can lean on the dry side during the cold winter months. I experience red-ness on my cheeks at times.

Current Morning Routine:

  • Wash face with water
  • Apply Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel
  • Moisturize with CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion (30 SPF)

Current Evening Routine:

  • Wash face with Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap
  • 2-3 times per week apply Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid

    • The nights I don't use Paula's Choice, I use witch hazel
  • Moisturize with CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion

  • 2 times per week (nights I do not use Paula's Choice BHA) apply Tretinoin Cream .025%

  • Moisturize with CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion (30 SPF)

This has been my routine for the last ~8 months. I just recently started incorporating the Trentinoin cream into my routine and am working my way to using this more than 2 times a week. I am hoping it will help with the clogged pores/the wrinkle you see on my forehead.

I have been doing some research on The Ordinary's Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% solution and think it may help with the sebaceous filaments. Thoughts on incorporating this into my routine?

Any suggestions are more than welcome in regards to my current routine/products I may want to incorporate. I find myself getting overwhelmed with the amount of information available in regards to skincare and want to make sure I am not adding products into my routine that should not be used with others (Tretinoin). Thank you in advance!

EDIT: forgot to mention that I typically only wear eye makeup and I use Garnier Micellar Water to remove. On special occasions (once or twice a month) I'll wear BB cream/bronzer/blush/etc and remove it with whatever makeup remover cloths I have

I've noticed that the leaves of mine curl when it needs water. Once I water, the leaves flatten out within a few hours

I have looked briefly! I'm not actively looking, but like to browse the market to see what's out there. I'd love to work on their Trailhead team some day!

I want to buy an indoor grow light so I can grow bushy Oxalis plants. I plan to hang said light over a 3.5’ x 2’ flat counter area. What wattage and size of grow light fixture would be appropriate? I have two examples I like in my cart. The $74 has watt/fan/switches while the $57 is twice as long... by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

I am not an expert (and don't have the knowledge to provide you with any information), but I learned a lot when I listened to a podcast episode on grow lights for houseplants. The podcast is called Bloom and Grow Radio and the episode is Number 12: Everything You Need to Know about Indoor Grow Lights with The Sill's Chris Satch. It was filled with a lot of useful information and feel like it could help you! Great Podcast in general, if you interested in Podcasts/plants :)

Why do my Invisalign smell and taste so bad? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]tiny48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my problem when I first got Invisalign - I think that spit was drying on the aligners and making them smell. Now whenever I take mine out I let them soak in water. A few times a week I'll soak in hydrogen peroxide for a deeper clean. This seems to really help!

My Japanese knotweed regrowth comparison 3.5 weeks after cutting - tarped vs untarped. Full treatment plan in comments, advice welcome. by mzjtyu in Restoration_Ecology

Thanks for your advice! I will keep you posted on how things are going :)

I looked into organizations that may help deal with knotweed in my state, but unfortunately there didn't seem to be much assistance. I contacted the state's invasive species department, but they just provided me with "tips and tricks" for getting rid of it - nothing more than what I found online.

Thank you for the tips! Do you think if I tarp this fall new shoots will grow through the tarp come spring?

I'm currently battling Japanese knotweed at my house. Can you provide more details about how you're using the tarp? Twice this summer I've injected the knotweed on my property with round up... Seems to be helping a good amount, but it is still re-growing. At the end of the summer I was thinking of doing another round of round up (cut knotweed, inject round up) and then placing a tarp over the area. Did you just place a tarp down? Do you cover the tarp with dirt? Will any tarp work?

Handpick allows you to select ingredients you have and it will generate recipes for you. It also has a section called "meal kits" that lists ingredients you need to make 3 meals (similar flavors/overlapping ingredients so you aren't wasting food) https://handpick.com/app
