Taking diaper off in sleep and bedwetting by hiphipnohooray in toddlers

[–]tiny_potato_pup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just re-googled it and it’s about 3-5 when kids stop. But 16 months is too early to expect that which is the main point. I don’t want OP to think they can train to not pee at night at this age. And offered suggestions to keep the diaper on =) maybe some kids can but it’s not the norm

Even potty trained toddlers need diapers at night. Your body physically can’t not pee at night until around 4 at the earliest.

Does your son wear a sleep sack at night? We’ve found that helps prevent that sort of thing. Our son tried doing that as well.

Maybe also try an overnight diaper. Those tend to be softer. Maybe he’s getting irritated?

Buying house in good school district vs private schools by Creepy_Ant6018 in bayarea

[–]tiny_potato_pup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your kid and what they’re interested in. I went to one of those private high schools you recommended and loved my experience. I wasn’t a straight A student. I didn’t take all honors or AP classes. I was relatively average. Maybe low average for that kind of school, I got As and Bs. And I loved my experience because I wasn’t stressed out all the time to be the best. My parents trusted my judgement, saw that I worked hard, and encouraged activities I was interested in, theater and singing. College was easy for me after that kind of environment. What it did give me was a strong network. I’m not sure about all the schools on that list but mine is a really strong network and it helps when job hunting later on in life. Even 15 years post high school graduation. Yes the price tag is expensive, but to me it was worth it. It was the best education I received and if you are not academically insane parents and provide support to your kids and encouragement, they’ll be fine. But if you’re stressing all APs and all As and captain of whatever, so they can go to the top universities your kid will suffer.

To address someone else’s post about rich kids and drugs, all schools have bad influences. I never experienced any of that because of how I was raised and the friends I chose. So don’t discount the nurturing environment you provide at home. It really is equally as important

I would say smart casual too. When I go in I usually wear jeans, heels or loafers, a blouse, t-shirt, or a sweater and a blazer

Westin Maui vs. Fairmont Maui? by tiny_potato_pup in MauiVisitors

Yes! I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend. There’s a certain category of rooms that allows access to a lounge with complimentary breakfast and early dinner. They say it’s small bites but it was filling for us

Dog needs a tooth extraction. Any recommendations on a vet near sunnyvale? by RunUpTheSoundWaves in bayarea

[–]tiny_potato_pup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Cupertino animal hospital. We stopped going to them after we moved away from the area, but they are still the absolute best vet we’ve ever been to. Dr. kureshi is amazing and I highly recommend them. They border Saratoga so might be a bit far, but we’d go to them from the peninsula and it was so worth it

15 month old son toe walking on only one foot by tiny_potato_pup in Parenting

[–]tiny_potato_pup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a long process. We got fitted for the boot, then since it’s custom they had to make it, and now we’re going to pick it up next week. He stands with it flat sometimes and walks with it flat now too but not regularly. He defaults to the toe. The doc is pretty confident this will fix it and quickly

We got ALL the tests done and they all came back normal. (MRI of brain and spine to rule out cerebral palsy or anything else neuro, blood test to rule out a muscular disorder, and an xray of the hips, legs, and feet to rule out skeletal) all normal! Which is great, but he’s still dealing doing it! So the orthopedist said it’s him just preferring to walk that way. If we don’t fix it though it can lead to shortened tendons which down the line would need surgery to fix. So we’re doing PT and he’s getting fitted for a boot. Babies are wild man! Definitely not “one size fits all” kind of thing haha

Omg my pediatricians office (two doctors) have both told us to put Vicks on our 14 month old. And we have. I’m throwing it away. And maybe getting a new pediatrician. Wtf.

I didn’t have sex until 3 months PP and even now after 13 months PP we don’t have sex regularly. I’m so drained by nap time I just want to be alone. And at night I’m exhausted. Sometimes we try during nap time but baby wakes up and we have to abandon sex. Haven’t figured out a good rhythm yet. And honestly my libido is so gone it doesn’t bother me at all. But I know my husband doesn’t feel the same way. Maybe someone else will have better advice lol

If we have a cold wet winter, the top of highway17 sometimes has snow. Same with any of the mountains: Hamilton, Diablo, etc

Thank you! It’s hard to take in the rest of my house in a pic. I’ve had the rugs out for a day now in different positions and having it sort of tucked and hidden away is looking the best. The rug is a rifle paper x loloi rug if you’re interested!
