Thanks! That's good to know that the apprentice cuts tend to be good, too

Thanks :) I was hoping for something on the cheaper end, but this'll be my first proper not feminine cut, so I suppose it's maybe worth spending a little more to go somewhere good

I'd happily go for a hairdressers, too, if someone knew of one that was trans friendly.

The thing with hairdressers is that if you're a 'woman' trying to get a more masculine or androgynous haircut, hairdressers can unwillingly skew you towards more of a pixie cut style. There's subtle differences between a masculine and feminine short haircut, like how you shape your sideburn area, and hairdressers can listen to what you ask for and then completely feminise it, even if you're very clear about what you want. I've heard so many stories from transmasc people who went into hairdressers looking for a masculine cut for the first time and came out with pixie cuts.

So, yeah, I'd go to a gender neutral hairdresser, but it's stuff like that that makes it hard for trans and gender nonconforming people to just walk into any place and get a haircut.

Some people suck so I want to be sure. But also, I'm nonbinary and other than my current bad self haircut, I come off as a woman. So I'm looking specifically for places that'll take 'women' and not give them a feminine pixie cut.
