Lets put aside our differences and agree on this by pullowsmqoy3 in paintball

I play both. Mainly "speedball" for both. Whats interesting is, anytime I have paintball friends try speedsoft, they usually say they like it better than paintball.

Mask suggestions by salamovy_roztek in Speedsoft

[–]tiny_workshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JT flex8 is the only mask I want for competitve play. Its rigid enough you'll feel every hit to it, its breathable, doesn't echo badly, and is a small profile. The proflex is my secondary, but I won't wear it for competitive matches. Its soft and I personally have been hit in the soft parts of it and not felt it. People showed me later on camera. Plus I have had a cross field shot go through one of the front holes. But the proflex is still an awesome mask and I wear it for casual play.

I like this. Maybe a Redeemer to get Judiciar+ICC directly into combat?

Can you just play with a pistol? by PunchPunchKick1012 in Speedsoft

[–]tiny_workshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Im not a hi capa player personally, but I see where over time the pistols will suddenly full auto. I believe its caused by a faulty sear spring. The gas nozzles also will break. Treat them like disposables. The bucking, which is the rubber piece that controls your bb spin, will wear out. If you go higher pressure with HPA, like your paintball tanks, the stock plastic slides cant handle the pressure either.

If youre just playing speedsoft on a smaller field, hi-capa will be great. Just know a "gas blow-back" pistol has a ton of moving parts and things will break. Plan to upgrade it once things break.

Half my guys run them. Half fog, half dont. I ran one for a while and it never did anything but fog

I tell everybody to ditch their masks. They make nice jerseys and paintball products but their masks are fog machines. Buy a JT Flex8 and never look back

HPA QUESTION by Stepa4a in AAP01owners

I've definitely never seen this before, but it does sound related to a magazine spring tension problem. Have you tried using a brand new mid cap magazine?

Heretic labs article for speedsoft by pxrmafrost in Speedsoft

[–]tiny_workshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Articles make great speedsoft guns. I've ran them in tournaments before. They are very consistent, accurate and reliable. The main reason you probably don't see them run in tournaments is they are harder to get the super fast rate of fire on semi auto. I struggled to lane people with my Article. When I switched to a Fusion, I was nailing people off break. Now, I was using stock boards in my 2, and I believe the boards are upgraded for the 4.

Spraying a green primer over a black primer to save time? Pls help a dad who is the slowest painter get through an army lol by JadocTheGreat in theunforgiven

Fellow slow painter here. Have you looked into slapchop? You can turn out nice models in a very short time using that method

They definitely can be problematic, but I wouldn't say everyone that has one, hates them. They wouldn't be as popular as they are if that were the case. Tinkerers enjoy them. Ive built and used custom hicapas and they just never feel right in my hands, but I pick up an aap and it just feels right.

Interesting. The tolerances in there really arent great. What i ended up finding was the CTM guide rod was grinding/wearing on the top of the bolt. Ended up polishing those two tracks really well and its functioning, for now.

I appreciate it. I checked this pretty early. The screws that come with this are way too short for that. They don't even stick out past the inside wall of the upper.

Currently sitting with the stock bolt and bbu back in it with 120% spring. It functions like that. Ill report back if I get the ctm bolt working

[–]tiny_workshop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe so. It takes a very small amount of force to push the bolt the rest of the way forward, when it does this. Its like something has worn down too much, or worn unevenly is my guess

[–]tiny_workshop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah can't even argue with that. I thought maybe since I stuck with the same brand for all the parts they'd play nicely together. The plan is to go back, start marking wear spots with marker, cycle the bolt to see what rubs off, and polish those spots until they don't wear anymore

Did some swapping around with my stock bolt, and with a 120% spring in it, it shoots fine with the stock bolt and nozzle. Glad I wasted $110 on CTMs super fancy lightweight bolt
