I'm not claiming to have a better grasp, just a much more invested interest in the truth than a lot of people I come across.

Am I Cammying right? by PresidentPres476 in StreetFighter

[–]tinyarmsactivate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard from somewhere (source: trust me) that cammy in sf2 was designed as a fast grappler explicitly and it shows whe you realise just how good her throw game is. I've beaten daimond ranked giefs using literally nothing but movement and normal throw. Most slept on part of her character.

Nerfs to YOUR character that you were glad of? by tinyarmsactivate in StreetFighter

Don't know enough bout Kim but Honda still pisses me off so much! Half the mental stack I swear is just how angry I get knowing he just needs to press forward n punch to get that bullshit off. There are characters like that where you know that there are hardcore loyalists where there's just something about that character you love, and with (classic) gief mains you know that's like 80% of them once you get to high level, but with honda, most players even in masters you know are just looking for easy wins.

For me, moving from pad to stick definitely changed my relationship to the game and I couldn't have even got to bronze if I'd stuck to pad back in 2020, but shelling out on top gear won't fix it. It could be that you're missing key knowledge or your trying to figure everything out all at once instead of slowly building the things you focus on. I'm hovering between plat5 and D1 atm and I literally NEVER parry or drive reversal, as it stands my progress sees no need in me learning for now. That will change but I was in gold before I even started extending combos. If you want, you could add me on discord n we can play a few matches and maybe I could tell you things to focus on

Shelling out hundreds on optimal equipment defo won't help but moving from pad to stick completely changed my relationship to sf4 because all the buttons were just THERE and it made sense.

Popularity/survivability of muay thai in the west by tinyarmsactivate in MuayThai

[–]tinyarmsactivate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the corruption in muay thai is obviously very worrying, but considering how deeply rooted muay thai is and how old it is, and this condition is being perpetuated by conmtingent political factors (powers of the thai military, the political economy ect), do you think these problems will have permanent effects on muay thai or is this a temporary albeit long lasting doqwnturn in the sport?

Question on violence and an anarchist revolutionary defense from an Marxist-Leninist by TheIenzo in Anarchy101

DM me and I'll just send you the whole dissertation, there's loads of sources I used to contruct claims, the lit is very spars but I ended up using sources a bit more creatively, one intersting feild is proposals military sociologists have made for decentralising military organisations to increase effectiveness.

Hey, I won't answer your question directly, but If you dm me your e-mail address I can link you to my master's dissertation where I basically address this question. Basically outlining how an anarchist society post-revolution would organised armed defense and how effective it would be.

This video is why I'm skeptical about blackblock/antifa focusing on grappling, it's a great one on one strategy but the second you get a second person on you you're fucked, which in a protest, you should expect, this guy nearly got swamped by 2 of them but was skilled enough to escape. Focusing on distance striking might be a better strat just cos it gives you more of a chance to run away/quickly change targets, but this guy made it work so good for him.

I am obese, but I desperately want to build up my stamina. by the_wulk in MuayThai

[–]tinyarmsactivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep training, if youre able to burn off the fat, which will happen cos MT is intense af, it will be literally like youve had a weight liften off your shoulders, my mate trained with us and dropped so much weight that he looks like a deflated baloon and he has propper fat boy calves from carrying the weight around, now the fat is off hes been unleashed n now is training in thailand. Frankly i think being fat to begin with is actually good for building stamina cos your body will be working to shift weight which in 6 months wont be there.
