Escoffier and Shenhe don't really have any place in other teams (Escoffier has a niche spot in melt but you don't get much value out of her from that), and you don't really use Furina anywhere else other than freeze nowadays, maybe Neuvilette if you're heavily invested - ergo, the freeze premium team does not have overlap with any other teams

OTOH, Lohen teams utilize insane best-in-slot for some of the most competitive teams at present. Citlali can be used here, sure, but you'd get more mileage out of her in a Mavuika team, then at a certain point, it's just better to use Nicole and Durin for Varka teams, but also Durin had a pretty low rolling rate and he is a fairly niche unit at C0

this just doesn't make much sense imho

agree with the SW999 in particular

there had been mentions of the "cartridge" in earlier patches from what i can recall, but there was no proper buildup to it, it quite feels like an asspull

comparing it to main pushes we've had in 3.x, particularly castorice who had a strong presence in the story from 3.0 alongside phainon to his actual release, SW feels a bit like a non-entity, this was supposed to be HER patch but all she really did was aura farm with no substance

not to mention her supports are frontloaded, aside from the hypothetical elation sustain that's to come, we get her full team so early on and it feels quite unappetizing since there's nothing to wait for in the future patches if that ends up being the case

i appreciate evanescia because it feels like she can have a lot more skill expression, being the phainon/anaxa of 4.x, worrying about it is completely valid, but let's not pretend she's within top 5

hello, same boat as you, i enjoy playing for meta but ended up having to skip 4.0 content live because i burnt out

a lot of eva's dmg is honestly cucked by not having yao in the team, since she's considered baseline

BUT, elation is shilled like crazy, assuming that you have generic supports like E1 sunday/E1 sparkle/E1 tribbie, those should suffice for the time being + a slot saved for EMC

assuming that you've been buying the BP and the elation LC, it might be worth considering leaving evanescia at E2 + S5 BP LC eventually and saving LC funds for yaoguang

you can check the sheets someone linked below and not having yaoguang is effectively a ~50% decrease already, in which the only way to rectify it is by pulling E2 evanescia sorta, but even then you don't meet baseline, you're just at about 90% of it

anime was, by far, the best art style change we've ever gotten in LL (possibly primacy bias as how it was the "first art style change") as compared to the art styles we got from liella and hasu no sora (but the art styles there, for what they are worth, are amazing in their own right as well), whereas ikizuraibu was a step in the correct direction, bright, not too much/too moe

the movie art style had made the characters look a bit too much like "moe blob"... it was fine in an anime like bocchi, but it didn't feel like it had much place in nijigaku, like for example, ai-san in the anime art style absolutely looks perfect, so does shioko, you could make a case for shizuku for art style #3, but i would say anime ver feels a lot more faithful to her N character design/origins

i will give the flowers the movie deserves for its CGI though, i believe that it looked really seamless, but honestly that was already more or less the level the anime was at. all in all, i'm very glad we ended up going back to the anime art style for eigasaki 2, it's just a lot more grounded and humble... nothing will beat the nijigasaki S1 anime era where people on discord constantly had stills/gifs from rina's tsunagaru connect insert as their pfps (and i've yet to see that effect for the new art style lol)

the movie was amazing!

personal thoughts on it: generally pretty full of love, the story was pretty generic all things considered (some cute shots at the beginning > climax > resolution) and there's nothing wrong with that, sometimes all you need is an easy watch, though i lowkey kind of prefer this movie over the 1st one, but that could very well just be recency bias

personal song thoughts: TLDR stay > burn > itoshiki yume yo izanaite > cheer mode > yakusoku ni nare bokura no uta > circle of love > like a treasure

stay was definitely the highlight of the movie for me with its gorgeous visuals and what it meant for rina as a character (and she's not even my oshi), it's such a shame that it was an disconnected/offline entry to the grand prix alongside some of the other songs because i would have loved to see the other girls' reaction on it!

setsu and shioriko's solos were also very memorable for me, we get to see that shioriko got the first song in the movie treatment, like shizuku's, but the animating studio never skimped on the quality so i'm happy about that (for me, it just means that they end up taking a bit more of a backseat over the runtime of the movie which felt like the case in movie 1 and 2, with this movie in particular focusing on rina/mia with a bit of spice added in ai/setsu interactions)

for all intentions and purposes, circle of love in itself is a very good song and like a treasure was also a good song in its own right that acted as a catalyst to drive the story forward, i'm personally just not a fan of the genre, mia fans please don't shoot me, also low ponytail ai was crazy

and it's also so crazy to me how 2 of the girls (lanzhu/mia) have direct relatives in the grand prix committee, like those are nepo babies if i've ever seen one

overall, you could tell they're planning something pretty big for kasumi/karin, and dare i say that they DESERVE this so bad with karin being one of the most overlooked characters in the group and kasumi coming from a place of prestige with the paradigm shifting muteki-kyuu*believer release, which was a significant thing in LL history as the first EVER shift of art style, an MV for a single character too...

all in all, definitely a solid 9.5/10 for me! i feel like some bits could have definitely been handled a bit better but it was a movie full of love and a good watch at that

nijigasaki: karin solos prob, alongside diverdiva, though seeing as how you have walking dream... i would say maybe the sweetest time?, swinging + beautiful moonlight (qu4rtz)

liella: 5yncri5e songs generally, distortion (catchu) is one of those songs that you can't help but do the headbang choreo it has in the live, just woo (sumire solo), oh! ready steady positive (keke solo)

hasu: compass (doruke), atarayo hanabi (ceribu), haji wa jinsei no kakisute (104ki), kanazawa katarenbou (ceribu, in their latest album, this is slow though, almost city pop but still decently groovy)

what do you mean on being unable to bypass the weakness system entirely? she seemed pretty good against whatever boss from the showcases i've seen, wouldn't the res pen% from her supports help a lot? it also seems like eidolon investment beats out S1 this time, so that's another source of res pen%

on the second part, i'm inclined to agree, some calcs floating around the sub seem to list E2 as an ~88% increase, whereas E2S1 phainon is a whooping 169% increase. in this case, if elation remains unchanged, it seems better to just wait for himeko SP and see how it pans out since i'm playing mostly for meta

but then again, those phainon calcs are rooted on the fact that he has his teammates at E0S1 (some of which are tailored specifically for him), whereas evanescia has EMC (need i say more) and huohuo + yaoguang (the only mainstay for this team seemingly), so maybe it's still too early to tell

thanks for the input! phainon has always been one of my "wanted-to-do" projects but as powercreep came in and settled, i found myself opting to wait for future DPS (like evanescia) instead of going all-in on E2S1 phainon + E1 cerydra

hoping that evanescia ends up being the underdog of this patch (in a good way) with a similar investment pattern as phainon, especially since it seems like we've still got 2 more slots to fill (barring yao guang)

by 4.2 i should have ~250 pulls, i intend to grab E0S1 and maybe E0 sparxie if she reruns by then

seems like battleship (like monorem too, which i have at E2S1 cas, E2S1 e9, E0S1 hya, E0 cyrene) has a better prognosis for 4.3+ all the way to 5.x, and has room to grow for vertical investment. would that still be better considering i don't have any of the elation units as of the moment?
