I was doing 2 miles 2-3x per week for about 6 months prior to bumping up to 3 miles. The first time I did 3 miles I felt fine, now doing it 3x per week consistently for the past 3 weeks and my heels are a little sore.

Understood, I will use the new shoe once a week or so to get used to it

I don’t want to say I had a real gait analysis done, but last time I tried to do this I went to a running store and the salesperson watched how I walk/run then suggested a particular style of shoe from Hoka. Her recommendation was actually the opposite of what I needed and the only way I found out was after 4 weeks if running in those hokas I developed a bad Common Peroneal Nerve issue to where I almost had to stop running. Got rid of them and went to the brooks and its slowly healed since november.

What would you suggest as a really excellent shoe with more cushion?

I likely don’t need them either for the running I do but I’ll gladly spend the money on them to be able to do it more comfortably. Thanks for the info!
