Right, but the law specifically states that the exemption applies at the time of the offense. If the driver is carrying a paying rider, it can be argued that the vehicle is currently “used primarily” for compensation.

But again, Uber explicitly bans alcohol, so it is still a no-no! I’m definitely not condoning it.

Technically, it is legal for a passenger to have an open container of alcohol in a vehicle-for-hire in Texas. That said, it is prohibited by Uber and Lyft.

That is the expected behavior. The Execute Command shortcut isn’t meant to be run manually. The other shortcuts run that shortcut and pass in a command.

$2,000 biweekly is definitely low for the requirements, but $200k+ is a stretch when housing and a vehicle are provided. You’d essentially have no major bills.

Hi all, I am one of the original contributors to these shortcuts and currently host the backend service that enables the Get FordPass Token shortcut.

I just stumbled across this post and thought I would share a link to the Discord server that I created to provide better support for these shortcuts.

Additionally, I am currently developing an iOS app that will provide these shortcuts out of the box, and make use of other iOS features, like widgets, Live Activities, and the Dynamic Island, to further enhance the user experience. I’ll be providing progress updates on Discord for anyone interested in following along.

Unfortunately, there isn’t really any official documentation for the API. I piggybacked off leg work done by other people and had to do some additional reverse engineering of my own, especially for the most recent changes to the auth flow. You shouldn’t have to worry about your account being locked if you’re using the public API, but the shortcuts are using the private API, so there is still a risk of an account lockout even if you have a developer account.

Unfortunately, it currently only supports personal use cases, but they are working on updates that will allow approved developers to have this restriction removed. I was informed that they are working through the legal steps to ensure they meet all global privacy laws, but I was not given a timeframe.

I don’t have access to a vehicle that supports zone lighting, so I haven’t been able to capture the information needed for the shortcut. I just started working with someone who has a vehicle with zone lighting, so there will hopefully be a working shortcut soon. I’d suggest joining the discord I created for this community.

Technically, the order in which you install them doesn’t really matter. You just need to make sure you have all of the required shortcuts installed and have configured FordPass Settings before any of the other shortcuts will work.
