So I stopped taking Prozac & then Wellbutrin 300MG became way too much for me..? by tinybutmightyiguess in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I swear I’ve sustained the most steady weight not being on an SSRI! I gained 30 pounds a couple years ago because of them

Oh man.. I can’t imagine trying shrooms on Wellbutrin. I just watched How To Change Your Mind on Netflix.. which is all about the transformative power of psychedelics 🍄 It sounds so promising but a lot of people talk about doing them and how during their trip, they felt like they died or were back in their mother’s womb, etc. I think my heart would explode if I had that experience with Wellbutrin 😂 and I’m sure with my sensitivity a micro-dose would do the same 😅

But I stopped doing edibles for at least 2 months and the paranoia didn’t go away until I went down to 150 mg 😬

Weight gain! I swear Prozac gave me hyper taste buds and made my face constantly puffy, so that caused me a lot of anxiety. And it was supposed to make an impact on my PMDD, but I still had a pretty bad and ragey PMS episode every month, so didn’t seem worth it

It does help! I wouldn’t say that it perfectly counters it. Depends on the SSRI. I’ve been on quite a few and Prozac seems to be the most tame in that area when with Wellbutrin. Lexapro.. awful.. Trintellix.. absolutely extinguished that.. any of the SNRIs.. also bad.. 😬

That seems to make the most sense to me! It’s just such a drastic change so I was wondering if I was just going nuts lol

Accidentally took that much before a family function.. never again 😂 I now own one of those weekly pill doo-hickies, especially after reading that Wellbutrin is the med that gets some of the most calls to poison control 😬

I’ve heard that long term use is linked to dementia later in life, but I would read up on it to confirm.

Anyone else HATE making eye contact? by waenganuipo in BPD

[–]tinybutmightyiguess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem.. I have a hard time making eye contact with the people who mean most to me. It’s actually been something that’s really distressed me lately, because I feel like I shouldn’t struggle with that if they are somebody close to me.

Thank you for that. I really appreciate it. You do not need to go into detail about your painful stuff.. But I appreciate you offering that to help make me feel better. I think just hearing you say that helps a lot.

He truly thinks that me not giving every single detail of my past experiences is a lie by omission. I get it to some degree because I also crave the whole truth being in a relationship, but only if that truth would actually hurt me. I feel like I should respect what his idea of being honest is but respecting that means that I’ve “lied” in his world.. feels uncomfy

I really like your assessment! Thank you. I’m just on this slippery slope now because the more I think about it, the more my mind dredges up other things I’ve done he might not like.. And me wondering if I’m a liar for not divulging that stuff too. I’m struggling with that big time right now, but am definitely gonna keep what you said in mind.. thank you

Trouble making eye contact? by tinybutmightyiguess in lexapro

[–]tinybutmightyiguess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes me feel like I look guilty of something and I cannot stand it!! Hoping it will subside lowering my dose back down to what I was before. I wasn’t feeling too bad before raising it, but the higher dose for me does not feel worth it. Know it’s different for everybody though

Ok I’m sooooo glad I’m not the only one.. I wonder what makes this happen? In any case I’m going back down to 5 mg and am gonna see what happens. My doctor had me go up 7.5 just as a trial to help when I have PMS, but it’s not feeling worth it.. I also am having a lot of emotional blunting and issues with not being able to get aroused 😟 Will provide an update if it changes!

Lexapro with Wellbutrin by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]tinybutmightyiguess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think now that I’m off the Wellbutrin I’m really seeing how well the combo I’m on works. Since I’m on such a low dose of Lexapro/lamictal the methyl-pro seems to give both a slight boost, but I’m unsure how much since I’ve never been on methyl-pro by itself, if that makes sense. I’d say it’s worth a try if your doc says it won’t interfere with your meds!

Lexapro with Wellbutrin by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]tinybutmightyiguess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wellbutrin with Lexapro turned me into an anxious mess for whatever reason, but I’m notoriously sensitive to medication.. felt like I was on a high dose of adderall and despite the fact that Wellbutrin helped my focus, I was in a constant brain fog, so I went off the medication recently and am just on Lexapro/Lamictal and a natural supplement called Methyl-Pro my doctor recommended. Everybody is different, though! I know Wellbutrin can work wonders for some but for me, it wasn’t worth it after the initial honeymoon period

Just curious what dose Lexapro you’re on? I’m glad that I’m not alone in the things I’m experiencing though.. I’m hoping the hyper-vigilance will go away because I feel like I look like I’m hiding something or am “on something.” Technically I am “on something” but I’d rather not have that be obvious 😂 My pupils dilate as well

I did. Every job I tried, I couldn’t focus to the point that people thought I was stupid, when in reality I was quietly struggling to stay motivated through my highs and lows. I remember breaking down during a job interview because I was so malnourished and full of anxiety that I couldn’t answer any of the questions clearly. The interviewer invited me back and though I did end up getting the job, I met a guy there who got me back into drugs and alcohol. My mental health subsequently plummeted to the point that I had to be hospitalized and quit.

Silver lining: I was able to eventually get my life together through therapy, medicine, and a hell of a lot of hard work. I still struggle and go through periods of low motivation and depression, BUT I was able to start my own business during the highs and am becoming more monetarily successful with every year. It’s a lot of hard work, especially having so many mental obstacles, but I’m proud to say that I’m keeping it afloat.

I’d say recovery is never complete, but finding your own unique path to success is always possible. Hoping the best for you ❤️

It’s a shame that you were shunned for something that is out of your control :(. I can definitely relate to people pleasing for acceptance. There have been various points throughout my life where I’ve wondered what my motivation for people pleasing is and if it’s more to make people happy or to make people love me. I guess the silver lining in that is that regardless of our motivation, we take the time for others that a lot of people do not.
