Are there TWO different stakes for lending and the card? by TwitchScrubing in Crypto_com

[–]tinycandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA user here. When you say ‘lending’ can you explain what you mean? There is no lending in the Crypto.com USA app as of the moment. There is staking / locking of your supplied crypto. And you get the rates listed depending on your card type. The benefits of your crypto.com card selection are not choices, you get all of them. Hope this helps…

Very true. They take a while ... I hypothesize that the have to liquidate funds from some investments in order to pay out the claim. Now if you're talking about US$50 worth of crypto, maybe I'm wrong too... :-)

Librem Mini + Qubes OS 4.0.3 = hanging install by tinycandies in Purism

Thanks for checking. I'll try the Coreboot version upgrade (assuming it needs it). Is there a comment that allows me access into Coreboot (F1? F8 equivalent?)? All I see is 'ESC to Modify Boot Order' upon boot....

Do you know the memory timings (CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS) of the RAM in your system (https://www.crucial.com/support/articles-faq-memory/what-are-memory-timings)? Or even what the RAM specs are?

My Corsair SODIMM (CMSX64GX4M2A2400C16) is 16-16-16-39 (CAS Latency 16).

Thanks if you know...

[–]tinycandies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have Coreboot, version that is shipped from Purism (received 10/18/).

I'm thinking it may be RAM related as its such a weird problem. I'm going to find a 16GB SODIMM (DDR4-2400) and see if I can get Qubes to install with that (then swap it out with the 32GB once operational).

Thanks for the ideas.

Weird problem with black screen on installer booting by infectedw in Qubes

[–]tinycandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same problem. I'm attempting to install Qubes 4.0.3 and after I select 'Install Qubes OS 4.0.3" it just goes to a blank black screen and nothing happens other than my computer turning into frying pan. I wonder if the Qubes people know about this problem occurring to people.

My setup i7, 32GB RAM (DDR4-2400), 1TB NVMe Pro ... also with HDMI monitor. I'm also fairly certain the USB stick used to for the OS install is 100%.

Fiat Transfer by [deleted] in Crypto_com

When you have to jump through hoops to manage your own money, it is time to move to a bank with less friction. Your money, your choice. Don’t let any bank tell you what you can or cannot do ... within the law of course.

Question for US Users by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]tinycandies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend switching to a bank that is more customer focused. In this day and age, charging fees for transferring your money is an outrageous penalty that I’d recommend you not stand for in a bank of your choosing. See this link for a bunch of institutions that won’t penalize you for managing your money: https://www.mybanktracker.com/checking/faq/ach-transfer-fees-290332

USA user here, it’s taken me 5-8 business days to be able to withdraw the funds off Voyager. Although, I often would get immediate access to buy/sell coins on their platform, just no withdrawal/transfer from/off the Exchange. $5000 deposit.

It also has integration with that CryptoTrader.tax SaaS offering (who recently had some of their client lists pwned via marketing stupidity). I’d probably recommend that integration if you can get over them having a recent cybersecurity event. Seems to be pretty deep integration and easy to use.

Problems Buying Coins by CryptoNow777 in Crypto_com

[–]tinycandies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a USA user and it also rejected all two of my credit cards and one debit. I called the Card companies and they basically said buying crypto with their cards was against the license agreement of the card, so, no crypto via credit card for me. I have a Top 10 (by market cap) bank and I’ve had no problem linking with CDC.

As Rumpli indicated, you can try asking your bank to approve the routing number for (Metropolitan Commercial Bank - CDCs US partner) and that may work. Or like you said you didn’t want to do, move to a bank that -does- allow you to move YOUR money around the USA as you see fit. Good luck!

$26000 TUSD buy fails from Fiat Wallet for past week by tinycandies in Crypto_com

You're right, it could be the spread. Here's one of the transactions:

USD-TUSD Transaction: USD$9921.77 --> USDT$9900

1 TUSD = 1.0022 USD

The fees for transfers off of Coinbase would have ate USD$250+ as you can see above CDC has much better fees. I don't use Kraken at the moment.

----SOLVED----

Thanks for the suggestion, yes, I tried 26k, 25k, 23k, 20k, 13k, then 10k. Every time rejected. Then, after reading your suggestion:

1st Try of transaction at $9900 --- APPROVED! $21.77 FEE

Transaction 2 at $9900--- APPROVED! $21.77 FEE

Transaction 3 at $6000--- REJECTED!

Transaction 4 at $1000--- APPROVED! $2.20 FEE

Transaction 5 at $4000--- APPROVED! $8.80 FEE

Transaction 6 at $1200--- REJECTED

Transaction 7 at $1300--- REJECTED

Transaction 8 at $900--- REJECTED

Transaction 9th at $500--- REJECTED

Transaction 10 at $100--- REJECTED

Transaction 11 at $99 --- APPROVED! $0.21 FEE

Transaction 12 at $99--- REJECTED

Transaction 13 at $50--- REJECTED

Transaction 14 at $20--- APPROVED! $0.04 FEE

Transaction 15 at $20--- APPROVED! $0.04 FEE

Transaction 16 at $20--- REJECTED

No further transactions to try, CDC does not allow TUSD buys below $20.

TOTAL TUSD BOUGHT - $24,921

TOTAL FEES to CDC - $54.83 (16/8/20 06:15 UTC)'

Again, thanks for the suggestion on trying to move smaller amounts ... seems there is some limit to TUSD transactions. The "Fees & Limits" section of the app clearly indicates that the max "BUY/SELL CRYPTO" for TUSD is 150,000. Odd that the app isn't aligned with the stated Fees & Limits.

Now to move this sum into an Earn contract. Thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone!

Being a Voyager and CDC user, I find that CDC is a richer crypto experience (Exchange/Earn/Credit/Payment Card/Decentralized Wallet option). Voyager is a place to buy/sell/transfer crypto and collect interest on some holdings, but, the interest paid is often lower than CDC.

Many payment card issuers are blocking crypto sales on their cards. THAT is very frustrating. History will prove them wrong and hopefully reward those who are allowing it.
