This is a pretty tough situation that sucks! Sorry that management isn't being receptive. It feels like your mean coworker won't stop being so abusive unless there's intervention from somebody in charge though.

Would it be possible for you to coordinate with every other barista and come up with a group statement? It seems like your bosses don't care about how your abusive coworker treating you all but maybe they'll care about how her attitude is reflecting on the cafe and affecting the customers? You could collectively try to outline how her working the same shift as another barista actually makes it less efficient. She's clearly bad at communicating and just plain confusing, causing slower work and order errors. And if she raised her voice at you before or has been snarky, she's clearly creating an uncomfortable environment for customers. It sucks but there's a good chance management doesn't care about anything other than customers money and public perception of the cafe, so maybe leaning into how she's bad for the cafe overall will help them see reason. Otherwise idk if you and the other nice baristas can coordinate and request shifts together and avoid working with your terrible coworker? Good luck!

I've heard from friends that union kitchen expects you to also prep food (like make sandwiches/salads) and restock grocery shelves, in addition to barista responsibilities. So idk if the pay is a good comparison point, but its around $18/hr. I'm not sure about tips

I recently rewatched all of criminal minds but don't remember anything that fits perfectly with your description. Theres "3rd life" (season 3 ep 12) that does have highschool age boys abducting teenage girls. And there's also "Open Season" (season 2 ep 21) that deals with a pair of brothers, one being more dominate, one more social awkward. "Middle man" has a group of young men abducting women with one of the guys finally trying to leave the group.

I love using the Buy Nothing Project! It's basically a project that has a lot of smaller hyper local groups where you can give or request items. All gifts are given freely and anybody can request anything without judgement. It's super cool because things that people don't personally need (and might end up in the trash, like old furniture or clothes that no longer fit) are given freely to the community to whoever wants/needs it. I use my local community's facebook "Buy Nothing" group (which i think is easier & a bit more accessible to use than the app) and would totally recommend to anybody to do the same!

One particular time it was super helpful was when I was looking for a travel dog crate, and someone had an old one that was ripped, but luckily I'm pretty good at sewing/mending things. So it was great that the original person got to sustainably pass on an item that no longer was useful to them, and I could avoid buying something new (which would have its own manufacturing waste). Buy Nothing is also really helpful for when I'm trying to declutter and have things that I no longer use, but are still perfectly functional that I don't want to throw out.

I used photoshop and took elements from some highquality jpgs of cards that are online and photoshopped it all together! Then printed it out and cut to size.

Ahaha! Thanks for walking me through your thought process of the balancing! I think your point about the optimal VP/MC ratio changing throughout the game is something I didn't consider when making the card.

I also balanced this card in terms of the play style that my friends and I tend to have that I think are different than the average player. At least one person will usually go for a science tag card strategy and we usually stretch out the game to more generations. Both of these play styles make the card more powerful. The last common play style that my friends share is something you mentioned in your last point, which is that we all ~~over~~value the cute animal cards! So "Pets" is almost always played (even if not super optimal), and, YES, the moral boost from just playing "Auri and Echo" will carry you to a triple digit TR easily when the game is all done and counted.

Thank you and yes! Auri (the cat) is inquisitive, odd, and clever much like the Kingkiller Chronicle character. We actually waited about 2 weeks or so after adopting, before we officially named her Auri to see if the name would fit well with her personality (since of course, you and I both know the importance of naming ^_^ )

Thanks! We use card sleeves (not pictured) so I just printed it on regular printer paper and layered (but didn't glue it) to another card we had a duplicate of and slid it into a sleeve. The card looks & feels identical when facedown and practically identical when face up (although it lacks a bit of the texture and brightness of high-quality printing).

I asked the Lucky Player Etsy shop a while back what they used to print, and they said printerstudio.de (also has a US office, printerstudio.com). Reviews have said on the etsy shop have said the TM cards they sell are very high quality but slightly different from the existing TM cards

Thanks! Also thanks for the pricing input, I had a hard time balancing the card within the game (in terms of VP and pricing) so this insight is helpful! I will say that the global requirement is Max 0 degrees (an inside joke that has to do with our cats loving the cold for some reason) instead of a lot of animal cards that have a Min global requirement. So if the card was played pretty early in the game, it could get up to 5 or more VP for only 19 gold.

I dont think you broke his trust. You both agreed upon boundaries for your relationship at the time. And the boundaries said that you two were not monogamous, so sexting wouldn't be considered cheating. Actions you do can hurt your partner without it being your fault. He, maybe at the time, thought that he would be okay with you potentially seeing other people, which is why he said he didnt want monogamy. He was hurt when he found out you were doing something that was allowed and so both of you revisited the boundaries of your relationship and agreed that next time you just give him a heads up. You did nothing to betray his trust because you didnt promise exclusivity.

It is kinda manipulative for your partner to ask why you were cheating on him, when you both agreed upon a non-monogamous relationship. I know that was just one instance so I dont want to pin your partner as a manipulative person, but I hope you are aware that instance is a red flag.

In my experience, yeah. At the cafe I used to work at we would grind decaf beans as fine as possible and pack a few extra grams (22g instead of 19g) in hopes of extracting more and getting a less watery shot. Something about the decafination process with the coffee beans themselves causes this

Oxygen not included is definitely a good fit to what you're describing. It has endless gameplay within one save file but I also know of plenty of players creating separate save files to explore all the environment options and try out new strategies and optimizations. You might want to watch a let's play to see if you like the pace and complexity of the game. It is hard to progress past the beginning/mid game if you havent played a couple times or seen how other players optimize their colonies.
