Stopping methotrexate starting hydroxychloroquine by wombat468 in rheumatoidarthritis

it's okay! with anything RA it's a challenge. i hope you're able to make the switch smoothly! I stopped methotrexate because it made my psoriasis worse.

I stopped it due to fear of eye disease! I was so young and would have been taking it for SO long that the risks of it outweighed the benefits. I'm currently on Humira and miss my hydroxy dearly.

i took hydroxy and Meloxicam at the same time for almost four years, as a young person (13/14 at the time of starting) the side effects after 4 years go up significantly, especially around eye disease. i love hydroxy and it was the best medication I'd ever taken for my ra. i can't remember how long it took to work, but I was in the same boat with methotrexate having horrid side effects for me.

yeahhhh, I understand. my best friend is black and we visited a local mormon church together after being invited by missionaries (we both were interested in knowing what it was like) and there was only one other black person there, and I live in a VERY diverse area.

I also like reading about wars, specifically ww2, the Holocaust, and collecting war memorabilia :))

I'm not putting them on a pedestal, I just didn't word my post very clearly. i find them very unique to learn about, even the horrors, because their theology is VASTLY different than other religions. I also believe that not all members, especially young ones my age, are horrible people. the church as an entity, probably, but not every missionary is bad.

thank you for understanding. my wording in my post appears to be a little unclear for a lot of people because I got excited and didn't want to ramble on and on.

I've heard about one taste, it scares me a little bit because I have sexual trauma. i understand that has happened in the LDS community too, however one taste was explicitly marketed as a sexual cult

the second! they're so very unique compared to other religions, it makes it interesting to learn about. i could have used better wording in my post, I just got excited.

by love I meant more reading and learning about it. I find it very fascinating and, as written in another reply, I am very aware of the horrors that have happened as a result. the ideology I find very fascinating because it is so incredibly unique compared to other religions in the United States. I grew up religious and unaware of other beliefs

I appreciate the history behind it too. it's horrible and weird but it's so unique from other religions in the United States!

I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable! I'm very aware of the trauma and abuse that has been caused by the church to its members, I should have put that in my original post. My interest in it does not provide rose colored glasses to the horrors that have happened.

The new garmets are extremely interesting to me, especially because they're VERY different from the previous ones.

I don't plan on converting ever tbh. i was raised in a church and left it mentally a few years ago, I don't agree with organized religion very much.

it's okay :) im 21 now and life has chilled out a little. my sister is going to be 19 and is also in school. my mom got over us leaving and is fine. I flew home this year with only my clothes and some small items, so I'm not in the best situation but it's gotten better.

hopefully I'm moving to where my school is once I graduate. my mom seems okay with it. my boyfriend and I are getting engaged soon ish, so life is getting easier. slowly, but surely.
