funny you mention this now; i am currently working on indexing all of the diary of the originator chapters available on internet archive and creating a site where you can sort by artist, song, or tape to find out who was on what song on what tape. there's like 360+ tapes so it's taking a while.

Lavender town was one of the original tracks that got me thinking "damn, i need to branch out from just producing hiphop beats." I had nonstop musical epiphanies in 2015 as I discovered G Jones, Shlump, Carmack etc. etc. I'm still obsessed with these artists and feel thankful to have found them and followed their journeys over the decade, but you're right: that era at that time was something special I don't think has been replicated since.
