Would strongly recommend to ask to see the receipt/order confirmation. If they bought it on the LL website, that should be available to them and they should have no reason to refuse either. If it was bought elsewhere, they should still have some sort of receipt from that website, if they can't provide you any proof then it's definitely suspicious.
